John,
I’ll go with you to drop off Taffy with Ida’s brother on Sunday after our walk, but I don’t
want to go to the DQ location in Cloverdale because we might run into Carol’s daughter, Krista,
and Krista’s husband, Brad, seeing how they live not too far to the North of there. So maybe we
could just come back to my place for our snack after we drop Taffy off.
When you told me yesterday that Dianne went out and bought a new desk for Shylo, you said
that you thought Richmond had the only IKEA location and you didn’t know until I told you
yesterday that there is also one in Coquitlam. You should remember that there are only two IKEA
locations and that there isn’t one in Surrey after I had just mentioned in the
July 29th E-mail
that Larry asked me if I had ever been inside IKEA. And he suggested that maybe him and I could
go look around the Coquitlam store one day, but I didn’t say to him that I won’t go to Coquitlam
except for FVMH visits.
You also thought for some reason that I had quite a time deciding which route to take to the
Macs store. It wasn’t a big decision, my mom had to have a small
argument with me when she suggested that we take a street I haven’t
gone down yet after I had already explained to her twice that we’d come out across from Ray
Shepherd elementary school at Chestnut if she decided for us to walk through the neighbourhoods
on the other side of 16th Avenue. And going that way was only one of just
two options that I had put on the table, I
also remember you said that you thought I was having a hard time deciding on a route because you
thought that I came up with just too many routes to pick from.
My mom came home yesterday with nine sticks of the OMBRELLE brand “Face” sunscreen that I
told you I was running low on...first she bought two at the Shoppers Drug Mart store in
Cloverdale, it was a bit more expensive there than it was at the places she went to later. After
Shoppers, she then drove up to the London Drugs store at 176th Street and 64th Avenue where the
OMBRELLE “Face” lotion was marked down a bit more so she bought me three more sticks from there.
And then she drove home by the new Shoppers Drug Mart that opened not too long ago in your
neighbourhood, she didn’t know until she was there that if you buy one stick of OMBRELLE “Face”
lotion you get another one for free so she got four from there. My mom also bought for me when
she was out yesterday, a new kind of Thinsations to try...the “Mini Cakesters” chocolate
flavour. And the “Mini Cakesters” are also available in white.
Remember that the phone rang yesterday just after my mom got home? That was Jenny, she just
wanted to let my mom know that she’s taking two more weeks off from delivering her papers and
her boss was okay with her doing so. She hinted though that she wants to get together again with
my mom sometime during her extra two weeks off.
Do you know about the story where in Vancouver an aggressive pan-handler would go around
asking women for things such as a cab fare, money, etc. And if they told him no he’d slap the
women in their face and he’d do it really hard. My mom turned on the five o'clock news yesterday
just after you left to find out that they caught the suspect.
My mom says that her chipped tooth hasn’t been hurting but it still bugs her because it’s a
rough spot on the back of the tooth where her tongue tends to hit. And then she said that
knowing her luck she’ll probably start to feel use to it when it’s time for her to go in and see
the dentist.
I don’t know if you looked in my fish tanks at all yesterday and noticed that my male beta
wasn’t there. It died on Monday (August 10th), mom and I looked in its tank on Monday
afternoon but neither she or I could tell whether it was moving or if it was dead. My dad f
lushed it later that day when he came home. Now I don’t have any male betas, I only got one
female left, and I now have two empty ten gallons with nothing in them other than just a
catfish...the male beta that just died lived in one of those and in the other one we had those
seven platys that you remember over May of this year they kept dying one by one. We think that
the other female beta I had might’ve been killing them. You know that I’m due to go out with my
dad to the fish stores and I haven’t gone out with him since April, but it’s been harder for me
to go out lately with my dad or my mom now that I have a worker coming here on almost every
second day.
I also don’t know whether or not you’ve noticed that they’re starting to fix up Reg’s front
yard. I saw it for the first time myself on Tuesday when I was coming through the walkway with
Larry after we went to the Macs store. And Larry said that he thinks so far it’s looking nice
the way that they’re making up those two raised beds using the allen blocks, but I thought that
it looked better when the hedge was still there.
Speaking about the fish, my dad brought three mosquito fish home yesterday that Francis at
work gave to him. Francis bought them from the Big Al's store and they’re a different kind than
the mosquito fish that my dad has now but he said that he’d take them home and try them outside
in his tubs.
And remember I said in the
July 22nd E-mail
that another one of the guys at my dad’s work gave my dad a free catfish to bring home for me?
It’s a bit different than the rest of my corey catfish because this one looks sort of green. We
didn’t know where else to put the one that my dad brought home three weeks ago so he just put it
in my five gallon for now and he said that we could always move it later. We took it because the
guy who wanted to get rid of his tank gave it to us for free, he otherwise would’ve flushed it
if we didn’t bring it home and give it a place to live.
