You don’t need to phone us if you don’t get a response within one day, there shouldn’t be any
problems as long as I let you know before the actual time comes that you want to take off. And
again, what you considered would’ve worked if my mom didn’t start the argument.

Maybe not this Thursday because it’s suppose to be really hot again tomorrow. Now could you
come at 11:15 tomorrow morning and then maybe you could stay to either 2:45 or three o'clock?
Normally when I watch the Noon News with you, we watch it on my dad’s TV in the family room and
then we eat our bagels at the kitchen table. Tomorrow though we might watch the Noon News in the
living room because it’s cooler in there and we’ll turn on my rotating fan, and then we’ll start
making our bagels when it gets to the first commercial break. And you’ll also be welcome to set a TV table in front of you once we’re back in the living room having our bagels. If we did have a second table and chairs set by now and if it was too hot to eat in the kitchen, then we could just eat at whichever table’s in our dining room while we listen to the Noon News on my TV. And please no heavy conversations tomorrow.

I know you’ve said to me before that all families will at least have little fights of
somekind. And I’ve told you before that if I could live with Carol, I’d want to keep anything
that she and I might have to nothing bigger than any small disagreement that might occur between
my friend, Mac, and his mom.
> ...is it hot enough for you...
Yes, it has been:
-I
got only four hours of sleep again last night.
-my mom and dad didn’t want to open any doors yesterday after Larry left because it was 38
degrees outside.
-Yesterday evening after 9:30, my dad said that it was still pretty warm out there.
-Yesterday after Larry left and after my dad got home from work, he left the crawlspace open (in
the garage) when he went down there to bring up some wine incase Chloe wanted to go down there.
My dad said that it was nice and cool down there if you wanted to go in there and cool off.
-My dad saw Izzy drinking out of the birdbath yesterday after supper.
-Yesterday afternoon when Larry and I were playing our board games, both his and my clothing
were sticking to the back of our already disgusting kitchen chairs because we were both all
sweaty after going out. And Larry noticed that his sweat left an imprint on the chair he sat in.
-And my dad finally went to the one substation today that’s in downtown Vancouver after he’d put
off going there for a long time because it can be so hot inside there, especially in the summer.
Plus any substation that you go inside today, they make you put on these fire retardant
coveralls. I myself couldn’t stand to have that kind of a job
It wasn’t a bad idea for Larry and I to go to Central City yesterday because it was nice and
air conditioned in there. He almost let his wife drive the Honda Fit yesterday because she has
to drive home all the way from North Vancouver after work and her little Honda Civic does not
have air conditioning. After we left the “Craving For A Game store,” I got my medium chocolate
milkshake from the Dairy Queen at the food court and I don’t think Larry got a snack yesterday.
Then after I finished my shake and we were about to leave the mall, Larry asked me if I wanted
to stop somewhere on the way home and have a little walk, so I said to him that it would’ve
probably been too hot to go for a walk at anyplace right then. Also, Larry noticed himself about
the big difference that it would’ve made yesterday afternoon if you were to step outside either
my house or the air conditioned mall and then walk out into the sun.
My dad phoned home two days ago (on Monday) at lunch to let us know that he was in
RONA and he saw that they had window air conditioners for $150 each. Then he bought one to bring
home for my bedroom window, but later on once he got it home he decided that he thought it
would’ve been too much trouble because of the way it mounted in the window so he took it back
“the next day” (that would’ve been yesterday). My mom and dad had been looking for a while for
something to cash in their Air Miles points on and they saw a portable air conditioner in the
points catalogue, but my mom read the consumer reports online and decided that portable air
conditioners don’t work that great and that some of them can be noisier than my rotating fan.
And then she thought that it might be better to wait until we could afford to have a heat pump
installed until my dad saw another window air conditioner when he was browsing at them online
and thought that it would cool my room better than the fan, but shipping for this one is four
weeks so it wouldn’t be here until labour day.
Two days ago when they were talking about the heatwave at the top of the six o'clock and they
had the story on about people that had to work in the heat, my dad recognised the guys who
installed our furnace just two months ago. They showed the owner, Allen Lake, who my mom and dad
met with when they went to their office and they showed Travis who was part of the crew that
came to our house.
Yesterday when I showed Larry the story that I showed you about Michaela, he said that he
remembers about the number of people that I know who have been in the paper within the last few
months. And then he opened the front door and made a joke saying that I must have a lot of fans
because he saw that the paparazzi was out there to take pictures of me. Also, Larry told me
yesterday that he had been on TV a few times
and then he reminded me that he use to be an announcer for a couple radio stations, CFOX was one
of them and I forgot the name of the other one. He also said that he was in the Kiss-Fm booths a
couple times for his practicum, and I told you before that they use to be my favorite station
for a long time until they became JACK.
When my dad phoned home yesterday at lunch, he said that Debbie who use to drive my dad’s
carpool before he took it over now has her basement suite up for rent. And one of the ladies who
currently rides in their carpool, Janice, wouldn’t mind living in a cooler place because the
apartment where she lives now gets really hot so my dad told her about Debbie’s suite. And
Carol’s apartment might not get quite as hot as Janice’s, but I remember she did say that it got
really hot. And when Carol was able to stay with me overnight when we didn’t have any problems,
I think that she was glad to get out of her small apartment when it did get hot in the
summer.
Larry and one of his co-workers are currently in the process of helping one of their clients
move and he said that his furniture is being delivered today. He told me that they got quite a
lot of his furniture from IKEA and then he asked me if I had ever been inside
IKEA. I told him that I’ve been inside the Richmond one a few times then he said that the
Coquitlam one’s a lot bigger and it’s a nicer store. He suggested that maybe him and I could go
look around the Coquitlam store one day, but I didn’t say to him that I won’t go to Coquitlam
except for FVMH visits.
And Larry asked me yesterday just before he left what I would think if he brings a different
game here next week on Tuesday that’s simlar to either “SORRY” or “Connect Four.” After I then
stood there and didn’t say anything, he said that it’s always good to try new things.
My mom picked up a small watermelon yesterday when she was out. She thinks that it’s suppose
to be seedless and I might have a piece tonight for my dessert after supper. On another note, I
remember you told me that each colour in your Life Savers popsicle was a different flavour. And
I told you before that I tried putting three to five different flavours in my cup a few of the
times when I use to get slurpies from the Macs store, but then my stomach would get upset if I
have more than just one flavour at a time. And I remember after I had my smartie blizzard two
weeks ago at the time when I was with you at the DQ in Fleetwood, you made a joke and asked me
if I wanted to order a second one or try the new “tin roof sundae” flavour. Seriously, you know
that my stomach also couldn’t handle more than one blizzard or more than one milkshake in one
day.
See you tomorrow at 11:15 AM.
-Neil
P.S. I got
your other E-mail response
about the Hoover Dam bypass. I might show it to my dad later today seeing how my mom told me
that he’d be interested.
