This program works best if you run it in DOS. Not in a Windows DOS box, run this program after exiting Windows. To start ScreenThief, go into your ScreenThief directory (after exiting Windows) then type "st" without the quotes and press enter.

Press control - alt - t (all at the same time) to take your screenshots. Just note that ScreenThief has to be running while doing this or your screenshots won't capture, you should hear a noise if your screenshot was captured successfully after holding down those three keys.

Just for an example, let's take a screenshot from the game "Commander Keen1." First exit your ScreenThief directory then go into your "Commander Keen1" directory. Now start Keen1. Once at the main menu, select "new game" then press enter. Don't move at all after pressing "new game." Instead, take a screenshot by holding down control - alt - t . If you were running ScreenThief the whole time while doing this and if you heard a noise while holding down the three hot keys, you should get this following result:

If your screenshots turn out blank, just type this following code in your DOS (from your ScreenThief directory) first thing after you turn on ScreenThief:

st /compression-

Now you should be able to take screenshots successfully.

To exit ScreenThief, you must be in your ScreenThief directory. Type the following code in your DOS to exit then press enter:

st /u

NOTE: You can't run or go back into Windows unless you exit ScreenThief first.
