John,
So you thought that we should see Kermit driving a PT Cruiser now that we saw him driving a
VW convertible? Well, I saw a commercial last night while I was watching TV for this new vehicle
that I think in my opinion looks ugly, the
Ford Flex.
I also saw some ugly new vehicles when I was out last Saturday with my dad. We passed this
Mercedes somewhere on our drive, I didn’t like it because its windows aren’t as high as the
windows that are on my mom’s Honda Accord. Here’s an image of a 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS550:
And I don’t think just the Mercedes have those kind of windows, remember I said the same
thing to you about this Buick that you and I saw when we were looking online at vehicles. I’d
rather a vehicle that has windows that go down to where the green line is on this next image:
And here’s the same photos of the 2001 Honda Accord that I already sent you on Saturday
Oct.25,2008, compare this to the above images so that you’ll know what I mean about the
windows:
Later on while we were out that same day, this Honda pickup truck was in my dad’s blind spot
for a few seconds while driving home along Highway 91 from Vancouver. It then went in front of
us and this was when I saw what it looked like, I didn’t like the look of the Honda pickup
compared to other club cabs like the Dodge Ram for example because the cargo area (or
bed) on the Honda one is raised. By “raised” I meant the area that I’d want taken off if you
compare these two images of the Honda Ridgeline:
My dad thinks that there might be a storage compartment underneath the cargo area on the
Honda Ridgeline and that could be why the cargo area is raised. I also don’t like the doors and
windows on the sides of the Honda Ridgeline compared to the ones on the sides of the Dodge Ram.
If you know what I mean, the bottom corners of the windows on the doors of the Dodge Ram are
square while the same corners on the side windows of the Honda Ridgeline are more curved. Now
here’s an image of a 2002-2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab:
And speaking about cars, my dad had a voicemail on his cell phone two days ago (on
Sunday) from that guy I told you about named Rod. He couldn’t make it down here last weekend to
have a look at the Hillman, so he might come down this coming weekend.
After dad and I came home from fish shopping last Saturday, my mom went over to the Zellers
at Semiahmoo Mall and she finally found two new pairs of pants. She had to buy two pairs in
order to get the sale price and she had to look through all the pairs before she found two that
were her size. I might go out tomorrow with my mom to Willowbrook Mall to look for some new
clothes for myself.
There were a couple DVDs that my mom was thinking about getting for my dad for Christmas,
“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”
and “Journey to the Center of the Earth”
starring Brendan Fraser, but when she was looking at them in the store while she was out
yesterday afternoon was when she found out about how expensive they are. By the way, I saw
Brendan Fraser in
“George of the Jungle”
and in “Blast from the Past”
but we don’t know if “Journey to the Center of the Earth” would be my type of movie. Anyway, my
mom did buy one CD for my dad yesterday afternoon, it’s a Rascal Flatts one which also includes
a bonus disk that has three Christmas songs on it. Also when she was out yesterday afternoon,
she saw the movie “Benny and Joon”
on DVD for only $6. My dad watches that movie every time when it comes on TV, but my mom just
didn’t get it for some reason. And my mom also got yesterday afternoon, new cushions for the
rocking chair in our living room on which the bottom cushion is a bit smaller than the old one.
It took us a long time to find these cushions and mom said these were the best she could find
for now.
Also, my dad talked to my grandparents a couple nights ago on the phone. They said that their
TV is going and that they’re thinking about getting a 32 inch flat-screen. It seems that every
store you go in today, all you see for TVs (or computer monitors) are the flat widescreen ones
because they no longer make the round tube TVs like the one that is currently in our living
room. I’m not happy about this and I therefore hope that my tube TV doesn’t go anytime soon. I
know that most people think that flat-screen is better, but I’m probably one of very few people
in the world who so call it “would rather be stuck living in the 1990s,” back when round tube
TVs were in etc. Also, remember that I sent you
a photo a few months ago of my uncle Gordon and
auntie Sue’s kitchen table and chairs set
which has upholstered chairs. I wanted to get a set
with upholstered chairs just like their’s except the chairs in their set have white metal frames
while I want chairs that have black metal frames around them, but unfortunately upholstered
table and chairs sets aren’t being made anymore and I didn’t like the look of too many of the
kind of table and chairs sets that we see in the stores today. And of course there’s what I told
you in the same previous E-mail in which I first showed my above photo of the 2001 Honda Accord,
that I don’t like the look of the 2008 Accord compared to the 2001 Accord because it seems that
the Accords are getting smaller every year. Some of the other manufacturers today though should
still be making cars that are just as big as my mom’s 2001 Accord, but why can’t I be stuck
living in the 1990s?
One of the last times when you saw me, you heard my mom say that my cousin, Shelley who lives
on Sumas Mountain out in Abbotsford, got 200 kids last month on Halloween. They live in a big
new development with mostly younger families and also the houses are closer together. Speaking
about Halloween, my mom gave my cousin Jenny when she was here two days ago half of what was
leftover for potato chips and gummies to take home for the other kids who live at her house and
for herself. And you know that I like different flavours of Thinsations "Thin Crisps" sometimes
when I have my snacks, Jenny told us when she was here two days ago that she bought a couple
boxes of those but Judy who she lives with made her take them back and we don’t know for what
reason.
Today for my afternoon snack I had the “Crisps & Chocolate” chocolate bar that was in the bag
of goodies from Purdys that Mac gave me for my birthday.
We found a couple of your surprises and we saw that you used tape this time, we found one
green cat spring taped underneath the kitchen cupboard in front of the can opener and another
one taped on the inside of the door to the cabinet in which are dishes are kept.
And that change purse that you found yesterday in our computer room might’ve came with my
dad’s newest wallet that he bought about a month ago.
And you didn’t tell me that you have extra dogs at your place right now. I heard that you
told my mom about the boy in that family you’ve been helping who threatened to attack Trish's
dogs with his pellet gun so you now have Dotty and Addy over at your house. That’s why you
seemed tired, I remember you did tell me that part about you being tired. And my mom said that
it must be frustrating to help the family and then they keep causing more problems.
I hope you will have time to write me before Thursday.
-Neil
