John,
I remember you said that you wonder why my mom didn’t take my offer and leave me by myself at
home for just a few minutes, so I asked her about it. She said that she didn't feel like going
out again and thought that the ice cream was okay to eat the way it was even if it did fall
apart. I’ll tell you that just because I offered once to stay at home by myself doesn’t mean
that I now agree to do it some other time, I thought that maybe my mom could “twist my arm” for
just “once and one time only.” Again, we decided in the end not to ever buy the chocolate coated
drumsticks again because their wrappers tend to be more sticky. And when I said to my mom that
we missed the chance to leave me home alone she then said that we could make an opportunity but
I don’t want them to make an opportunity just for something like that if they don’t have to.
Also, I remember you asked me how long Jenny’s been wanting me to make the slideshow for her.
She’s been wanting me to do it since before Christmas, it was in the E-mail I sent you on
Tuesday Feb.5,2008 when I first told you about it. You also asked me what she does for work and
if she’s married. I told you in person about her paper route, and she’s not married but she has
a boyfriend. Jenny is the same cousin who lives with that Judy who fosters other kids.
I was feeling kind of tired last Thursday evening (the 14th) and my mom didn’t really
have anything going on so we sat back and we watched some of my TV shows that we had taped for
the first time since before Christmas including the
“Two and a Half Men”
episode titled “Shoes, Hats, Pickle Jar Lids”
in which we see the interior of a Ferrari. I still don’t like the look of the seats inside those
things. I remember you told me that Dianne watches that show, she might know the episode I’m
talking about. Anyway, our pile of VHS tapes underneath the VCR in that room is now smaller.
Also while mom and I were watching our shows last Thursday evening, my mom noticed the Sammy
snake toy on top of her picture that’s on the wall above our fireplace.
I got out with my mom and dad shopping yesterday morning to look for our new kitchen table
and chairs set. All the table and chairs sets we saw yesterday look fancy enough that I would
use them in a dining room, we didn’t see one table set that would suit an eating nook.
Once we finished looking at “The BRICK” store in Langley, we walked across the parking lot to
Tim Hortons. We didn’t know at first whether we’d go to that Tim Hortons location or if we’d go
to the other one in Langley on Fraser Highway at the Bypass, it’s a good thing we decided on the
one we did go to because we found that the other one had closed out when we drove by it. We
picked up my two favorites when we were at Timmy’s; one double chocolate (chocolate donut
with chocolate icing) and one Vanilla Dip with colour sprinkles. And then after Tim Hortons, we
drove across to Staples and got a new mouse for our downstairs computer. We then drove across
200th Street to the A&W and had lunch.
I had the double chocolate donut yesterday afternoon for my snack after we got home. And my
mom will pick me up one of my seafood salads from Safeway to have for supper tonight, I will
then have the sprinkled donut for dessert. My mom got some shortbread Thinsations “Thin Crisps”
for me to try when she was out a few days ago and I tried a pack of those today for my afternoon
snack about an hour ago. When my dad went to unplug the mouse from the computer before plugging
in the new one, he found the green spring on the mouse cord.
It doesn’t look like they make the kind of table and chairs any more that I was hoping to get
for our eating nook in the kitchen. Here is a picture that was taken at my uncle Gordon and
auntie Sue’s house on Christmas Day 2000:
I saw a table set with upholstered chairs in Sears many years ago that I liked, it’s chairs
looked just like the ones in the above photo except with black metal frames. I wish we
could’ve afforded to buy that set back then, this was twelve years ago after we moved and didn’t
have a lot of spare money.
And once we get our new table and chairs set, my dad wants to throw away the chairs that are
with our kitchen table that we have right now. He wants to throw them away because he says
they’re trash, I disagree with him and can’t convince him that we could pay some place to
revarnish them. I think they will be good as new again after they’ve been revarnished. I feel
comfortable and like the way I sit in those chairs, I especially don’t want to get rid of them
if the table that they go with is still in really good shape. I suggested to my mom and dad that
once we get our new table and chairs set, either we could put the current one in the dining
room (the one where all the fish tanks are) for now or we could pack it all up and store it
down in the crawlspace.
Also when we were in the furniture stores yesterday looking at table and chairs sets, we also
kept our eye out for new coffee tables for in our living room seeing how we had our current ones
since I was only a few years old and they now have marks on them. If we end up buying new coffee
tables, I would like to additionally buy a matching wooden tower to store my DVDs. After we got
home, my mom did some searching on the net and found
this tower
on the website for the “Knock On Wood” furniture store in Surrey. If you click on the link I’d
probably be good just with something like the smaller tower that’s on the right side of the
image, the ceilings in our house are 8 inches above the floor so I wouldn’t want anything that’s
taller than eight inches. I also don’t know if I want something that’s any taller than our China
cabinet that’s in our dining room between the two big fish tanks. My mom also went on the
website for a furniture store that we didn’t go to yesterday,
The Oak Market
store in Langley, and found this Table Set
which is something like the one that my grandparents have in their apartment. And my mom thinks
that you don’t have to buy this whole Table Set and could instead choose to buy it in pieces, if
she’s right and if this is the Table Set that we end up buying in the end, I would like to buy;
one of the table shown inside the green circle on this following image, two small End Tables
shown in the yellow circle, and just one of the table shown in the red circle...total: four
tables.
I saw another coffee table I liked yesterday when I was in the stores, I can’t remember
whether I saw this one in Sears or in the “K&D Furniture” store, and I forgot again that we had
my mom’s cell phone with us and could’ve taken a picture of that table. It had a nice big drawer
underneath it in the center and a compartment on each side of the drawer. I would like the DVD
tower that I end up getting to have the exact same wood, varnish, etc as whichever coffee tables
we end up with so that it will all match in, what I’m basically saying is that I want the DVD
tower to look like it’s part of the same set that the coffee tables are in.
My dad’s sunglasses broke yesterday while on the drive home from Langley. He tried to fix
them himself once we got home but didn’t have much luck trying to do so, he then decided to
drive over to the eyeglass store. Once he pulled out of the garage and was in the driveway, he
went to push the pedal with his foot when he noticed that his feet were bare, he didn’t have any
shoes on. He parked the car in the driveway while he ran back inside to put on his shoes. And
then the lady at the eyeglass store told him quote, “don’t try and fix them yourself, bring your
glasses in to us.”
Two days ago (on Friday morning) once my dad left for work, he went to pick up Wenpeng
who rides in his carpool. When he got to Wen’s house, my dad sat for a long time parked on the
street in front of Wen’s house waiting for him to come out. Eventually, my dad tried phoning Wen
on his cell phone to find out that he had slept in.
I think my dad did a good job when taking that video at Sunnyside Acres last Thursday that I
wanted him to take, I think it’s a much better video than the video that you and I took. They
also drove around that same afternoon when you were with me and took a picture of the house
where Lucky Louie’s vet lives and of the house my mom and I saw on 17th Avenue that I told you I
didn’t like the colour of. You can download the pictures of both houses and the video my dad
took at
http://www.stuntsillusion.com/download/tempfile1.zip .
Now if I had something like the house that we saw on 17th Avenue except again a different colour
and something much newer; the window inside the green circle (almost on top of the garage) would
be my living room, the yellow circle would be my computer room, and the red circle which is the
farthest away from the garage would be my bedroom.
Or if I had something like the house in which Lucky Louie’s vet lives, my bedroom would be
the window inside the green circle on the next image at
http://www.stuntsillusion.com/download/tempfile2.zip .
And my mom and dad took the Honda when they went out last Thursday while you were with me,
they didn’t want to leave my camera in the Subaru which doesn’t have a covered trunk which our
Honda does have. My mom therefore didn’t get any practice driving the Subaru that day.
The secretary in one of the other departments at where my dad works forwarded an E-mail to
him two days ago (on Friday) which my dad then forwarded to me. I will forward it on to
you after I send this message, the address he forwarded it to me from is
Ron.McRae@bchydro.com and the subject will be
“FW: Cat Picture.”
See you tomorrow at 1PM.
-Neil
