Sorry about that, try again now. Also included in the above ZIP file is a plan that I told you I did a few years ago of how I want our backyard to look. And on which are purple arrows, again remember that you were trying to figure out one of the last times when you were here how Izzy could jump from the trellis to the roof of the workshop and then onto the fence

I can’t send you the image that we cropped yesterday, the one that had all those puppies in it. I’ll include it on the CD that I told you I’m putting together for you. The one image alone is a 5MB file and in the message I sent you on Sunday July 20th 2008, I told you that whenever I try to ZIP either one big file or a bunch of files that just add up to a big size in total when on my downstairs computer, I get this error message that says quote “The Compressed (Zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted.” At the next location, however, you can get the only picture that turned out when mom and I went for our walk two days ago (on Wednesday afternoon), it is of the house I liked that is at the corner of 18A Avenue and 136A Street. None of our pictures turned out that we took of the fountain.

Incase the reason why the pictures we took of the fountain didn’t turn out wasn’t because my mom had her finger over the lens, this is why I suggested to her that my dad should go with her to take pictures of the two houses on a sunny day when he’s off and you’re with me. And I thought that maybe on another afternoon my mom and I could sneak my dad’s little Canon camera over to the pond and try to take a better picture of the pond as well as maybe also a shot of me standing next to the pond, either that or if my dad shows you how to work his camera you and I could also take the pictures. You already know that my dad has Monday off work and I keep hinting to my mom that the casinos might be packed that day seeing how it’s a statutory holiday, I also keep reminding my mom and dad that they haven’t gotten out for any walks around our neighbourhood for a long time just the two of them. I also found two more houses on our walk yesterday that I wouldn’t mind getting pictures of; the first of these two is the one inside the yellow circle on this “Google Earth” image (even though it had a big gable overtop of the garage, just as long as the room inside is normal and doesn’t have sloped walls and a slope ceiling), and the second is the one where Lucky Louie’s vet lives (the one inside the red circle) I didn’t see a garage anywhere when we walked by this house but there might be one in the back. And I don’t need a picture of the house that’s in the green circle, I marked that one only because that’s the one where we slipped a letter in their mail slot after we found the letter on the sidewalk. Speaking about the house where we slipped a letter in their slot, remember I noticed a bench on their front porch. The people who lived here before us in the house we’re in right now had a bench on the front porch but they took it with them when they moved out, I had always wanted to see a bench in the same spot again ever since we moved here twelve years ago. Out of all of the bench plans that we looked at over the years, the one that I think is the one that I like the best so far is this one that we photocopied many years ago from a book that my uncle in Port Coquitlam has. And we probably still have the photocopied plan around somewhere. If my dad didn’t have his Hillman to spend all of his free time working on, then he could build more projects in his workshop over the winter for my mom and myself like the bench for example.

And I just recently got thinking, I guess that maybe I don’t necessarily need to be specific as to whether or not my bedroom’s on the North side in every place that I live at. Just as long as I have curtains and also blinds behind the curtains, my bedroom’s window was on the East side of the house when we use to live in Whalley so therefore my room was just bright in the morning and then it would be dark in the evening when the sun’s on the West side. I’d rather live in a house in South Surrey in which my bedroom window is not on the North side than live anywhere either in Langley or North Surrey if that’d be all I end up having to choose between.

Now here’s another interesting idea that also popped into my head just recently...Remember I recently said something in one of the previous E-mails about my dad buying a second house to rent out to tenants if only he could afford to do so. There are lots of older “late 1950s/early 1960s” homes across 16th Avenue from us over in White Rock, and it shouldn’t be hard to find one seeing how you said on our walk last Thursday (July the 24th 2008) about not many houses are selling right now. Now if my dad had that kind of money we could convert the upstairs to a suite for the tenants just like your house on 126th Street, and then we could set up a big room in the basement in which we could move some of my aquariums over to that house so that my mom could have more room in our dining room. And then we could give the tenants (hopefully someone who’s good at looking after fish) a discount on their rent in exchange for going downstairs and feeding my fish each day seeing how I probably wouldn’t go over there everyday. I think a house that has a basement entry would probably work best for this setup, or otherwise we could set up my fish area so that it could be accessed via the backdoor. If we do end up getting a third vehicle (a nice new 2009 or 2010 car for my mom, and my dad would drive the 2001 Honda Accord) sometime, we could park one of the vehicles in the garage at our other house seeing how there’s only enough room in the garage at where we live now to park two vehicles. And anytime while the tenants are away and my parents either want to invite over company or just have the house to themselves, Mac and I could have a sleepover at the other house. Or my parents could go stay in the upstairs suite at the other house while Mac and I “have a big party” here.

You remember when we went for our walk yesterday afternoon that I commented about how it’s not too often that we get to see the shadows of the nice trees that grow along my street that I currently live on now. Keep in mind that we moved to South Surrey only because of me, my mom and dad might not have ended up in the house in which we live right now if they didn’t have me and if they didn’t have to worry about finding a school for me in the right area. You heard my dad say yesterday that we’re glad we got out of Whalley where they put suites on both floors of most houses and then rent them out to noisy tenants. Now if I were to have tenants myself, I’d plan to have quiet ones who don’t play their music loud. I’d also like references to be checked first etc. I also remember you saying about how one good thing about not living in an apartment is that you don’t get to hear footsteps above your ceiling on the floor above, other peoples’ doors closing, etc. And in the message I sent you on Wednesday June 18,2008, I gave you more reasons why I’d prefer not to live in an apartment:

> Also remember when we went and saw Kris at his new place a few weeks ago, you asked him if he’s
> ever bothered when hearing the people in the apartment above his move around seeing how it’s poorly
> insulated between the floors in his building. I’d rather live in a suite in someone’s house if I could have
> my way instead of an apartment because I wouldn’t have council to boss me around...unless I wonder
> if having lots of insulation between the floors could help fix this...

My swordfish that I told you my dad put in the breeding cage last weekend on our five gallon fish tank had approximately twelve babies, my dad moved her back over to my big 32 gallon tank yesterday just before you came. I hope to go out with my dad tomorrow morning to Langley and do some fish shopping. I made a list with the following:

-at least two big black sail fin mollies (only males have fins) and at least four female seeing how I already told you that all I have left for mollies are just two runty ones.
-at least a couple kuhli loaches, I only have one left right now in my six gallon tank upstairs and all my other ones have died.
-and I plan to stock up on corey catfish seeing how I’m short of those right now and don’t have one in every tank.

And I also plan to go to SUBWAY for lunch and then get a couple donuts at Tim Hortons to bring home for my afternoon snack.

Speaking about fish shopping, you heard my dad say that “Critters Pet Supplies Ltd” moved across the street (Johnston Road) from where they had been previously. They’re currently the only store in “South Surrey/White Rock” that sells aquarium fish. Their previous location didn’t have a big selection of fish to choose from and they also wouldn’t take my babies when they got big enough to trade, you heard my dad say that their new store has a better selection of fish though my mom told me that it’s still quite a small store. And when my dad drove by there last weekend and saw that the old Critters had closed, he thought at first that they closed and went out of business and didn’t know they had moved until just yesterday.

We also have to drop Chloe off at the vet at 9AM tomorrow morning to be put under. And here’s why:

Friday June 25,2008:
> My dad got back from the vet about an hour ago (at 3PM this afternoon), he took Chloe for her
> annual checkup earlier this afternoon. She has a tooth infection and has to go back to the
> vet next Saturday (on August the 2nd) to be put under and have her teeth cleaned...

And here are other things from previous E-mails that you weren’t quite clear about:

Wednesday July 30,2008:
> I found your glow in the dark ping pong ball this morning hidden in the lamp in the family room. When
> I called my mom over so that I could show her that surprise, she immediately saw the green
> spring that had been hidden for a long time.

Sunday July 20,2008:
> And earlier that same day when I was in the car with my parents on our way to the
> meeting, we heard Amy Winehouse’s song “Rehab” on the radio...

I don’t care for that song myself, and I didn’t know why they’d play it on my station (QM/FM).

Sunday July 20,2008:
> We have a new picture to scan tomorrow that my mom found in the Peace Arch local newspaper, the
> picture is of a brown cat named Chloe with one of the Surrey SPCA’s staff members, Kimberly Hoare.
> I wonder if she has any relation to Michelle
...

And now here’s the map again seeing how you didn’t recognize the territory (18A Avenue) that we were in during our walk yesterday, and I reminded you that I been that way with you once before:

And a couple news points:

• Yesterday when we were in on the computer, you showed me a picture of a guy holding a baby panda at the zoo in London. And remember I didn’t know which of the two Londons you were talking about until I asked you and you then told me that it was London, England. And I’ll tell you that the other London is only a twenty minute drive from the small town in which my auntie Ann and uncle Les live; Granton, Ontario.

• My mom read to me from the Vancouver Sun that the new Wal-Mart SuperCentre that opened in South Surrey just two days ago (on Wednesday) is currently the largest Wal-Mart in the entire province. And it’s also the first Wal-Mart in B.C. to have a full grocery store including a deli section and a bakery section, both of those sections sound promising to me.

• And they had this listing in yesterday’s edition of the “Real Estate Advisor,” which comes once every week inside our Peace Arch local newspaper, for a house in Grandview Heights which is the name of the area in South Surrey in which the Wal-Mart just opened:

• 7445 Sq Ft - 5 bedroom - 6 baths - 276° x 158°
• Deluxe Rancher on a beautiful 1 acre lot.
• Full walk-out basement, media room, wine cellar & great room with custom bar, central air cond.
• Master suite is fit for royalty!
• Tropical pool/spa, waterfalls, gazebo and workshop.
• Covered entertaining area with built in natural gas 880 stone & gas f/p.
• 4 car garage, circular driveway with porte-cochere.

Wow, sounds like five bedrooms and six bathrooms, therefore each bedroom must have its very own bathroom. I wonder if the tropical pool is indoor...Anyway, my mom showed me another listing yesterday after she showed me the one above, listing for a home in Country Woods that has an indoor pool. And the listing didn’t just say that this house has an indoor pool, they showed a picture of the indoor pool with the listing.

• We learned on last night’s six o’clock news that they’re gunna replace the Pattullo Bridge and build a new bridge beside it. They won’t close the current bridge and tear it down until once the new one is open and they say that the new one will be a toll crossing. So it sounds like they won’t be keeping the current bridge for pedestrians and cyclists, and doesn’t it cost extra money to tear down things like that!

I had already knew about the song “One” by Three Dog Night before I heard you singing it yesterday. And I already knew that the band who sings “I`m Henry The Viii I Am” is Herman`s Hermits, who’s lead singer is Peter Noone. And remember a while back when we were working on my grandparents’ home movies, we chose Peter Noone’s song “Oh You Pretty Things“ for one of the titles.

And also in the above ZIP file (tempfile4.zip) are a few still pictures that my dad took two nights ago (on Wednesday evening) when the Snowbirds flew over us. I’m glad that I don’t live anywhere near the airport. Anyway, my dad also took a good video of the Snowbirds just using his “Canon PowerShot SxIS” camera, keep checking my profile or the video to appear on YouTube.

I hope that you’ll write to me before I E-mail you about how my fish shopping went.

-Neil
