John,
This message will be shorter than the length of most of the ones I’ve been sending you lately
because I only got a couple hours of sleep last night. I was awake most of the night going to
the bathroom, I don’t know what I had yesterday that affected me. And to add to this, a parked
car on the front street was also running for quite a while around 8AM this morning.
First off, I made a spelling mistake in the last E-mail I sent you:
> BB - baobab, bathtub, debaub, bicarb
This obviously won’t work because the word starts with the letter D and is therefore not a BB
word, must’ve copied it
wrong when I was typing up all the words my mom penciled onto a scrap piece of paper for me
after she found them in the dictionary. The word should have been “bedaub.”
Now, I had mentioned this idea in a previous E-mail I had sent you a few weeks back:
> ...when you come for your visit on either next Monday the 28th, Thursday the 31st, or
Monday February the 4th, maybe my
> mom could drive us to the Save-On-Foods store at South Point and we could pick out my
Valentines snacks from the bulk
> section...
Maybe we could do this when you come wither on Monday or next Thursday (the 7th) even though
you know that I still got a lot of my Christmas stuff left to eat up so maybe we could still go
and get a few red foil-wrapped chocolate hearts, we could get some of both sizes - both the
smaller size and the bigger “milk chocolate-filled” size. I could send a couple of each size to
Carol if I send her a card at Valentines Day and keep the rest for myself. Speaking about a card for Carol, while we’re over there that same day
we could look through the cards at Save-On to see what they have for Valentines ones and if we
don’t like what they have we could then walk over to the ”Carlton Cards” which is a few doors
down from Canadian Tire. Maybe my mom could give you an idea of what type of cards I like to
give. A few other things we could do at the grocery store that day since I probably wouldn’t
want much else for Valentines stuff:
-I finished off that jar of cashews not too long ago that my aunt and uncle gave us for
Christmas. My mom says that they sell those same cashews in the bulk section of the grocery
store year round...We could explore the bulk section.
-We could see if Save-On has anything for big cookies that I could bring home for my snack. Or
if they don’t have big cookies like the ones that Safeway has and if my mom has other grocery
shopping she wants to do, we could let her do the rest of her shopping while you and me walk
across the parking lot to Tim Hortons and buy a couple donuts...I could have one for my snack
with my cranberry juice when we get back to my place and I could save the other one for another
day. If you get back to me, I’ll send you a more detailed shopping list and an agenda for
whichever day we decide to go.
I had one half of one of the two bags of Eggies (the “Cadbury Mini Eggs”) for my snack
last night that I bought before Christmas. I only had half because there’s enough in that bag
for two snacks. I’m not sure if that’s milk or dark chocolate inside those eggs, my mom’s pretty
sure it would be milk chocolate. For supper last night, my mom made me one of her homemade
salads with cheese, lunchmeat, etc. You remember my parents realized as soon as they got home
yesterday after shopping that they forgot to get lettuce, the reason why my dad had to run back
out and get it is so I’d have it for my salad. I finally finished those round butter shortbread
cookies with red and green sprinkles that my dad got me from Price Smart a few days before
Christmas, so yesterday we opened the bag of Bahlsen gingerbread men that I told you I got for
Christmas and I had a few of those before you came. There are approximately 24 gingerbread men
in total in that bag and they are so tiny that I had four for dessert at lunch yesterday instead
of two, and this way they’ll be gone sooner if I have four each time I have these for dessert at
lunch. These gingerbread men have chocolate on their backs and are iced a bit on the front, but
these gingerbread men are a bit softer than the bigger ones I told you that we found at Save-On
before Christmas and those gingerbread Santas I got from the Hillcrest bakery the year before.
Those harder gingerbread men from Save-On and the gingerbread Santas would be my preference. I
told you that for my snack the night before last night (for my snack Wednesday evening) I
had most of the Hawkins Cheesies that I had left to finish off before we open the Doritos,
there’s just a few left in the bag after what I had but not much and not enough for a snack for
me. For my snack earlier that same day in the afternoon, I had a box of Smarties and a COFFEE
CRISP (we still have stuff leftover from Halloween). And I’m finally going to have the last
cupcake, for my dessert at supper tonight.
I will now spend the rest of the day on the couch after not getting much sleep last night. I
hope to send you a longer E-mail tomorrow including instructions for inserting smilies into your
E-mail messages.
-Neil
