John,
Here are all the words that my parents came up with, they used their green scrabble
dictionary. It looks like they came up with a lot more words this time even though they couldn’t
find anything for GB, so it looks like GB is an automatic bonus.
AO - abamo, agitato, aerugo, ahchoo, aikido, albedo, albino, alfresco, allegro, altho,
amaretto, amino, apollo, aristo, arroyo
BB - baobab, bathtub, debaub, bicarb
EO - eightvo, electro, embargo, embryo, enduro, eryngo, espresso
KG - kalong, kayaking, keeping, kicking, kidnapping, kitling, knotting
KP - KETCHUP, kickup, kneecap, knosp
you wrote:
> wow... no wc and i looked thru all the w's

Well then, it looks like both of these are also automatic bonuses.
> ...aha..rainbow for rw.. how'd you miss that!!! ...
And why did I not think of “KETCHUP” for KP.
> ...social night is cancelled so we're staying home...
My dad made it into work yesterday no problem, so if he could drive all the way over to
Burnaby from South Surrey I don’t see why your social night had to be cancelled. You don’t live
too far way from there. I guess my mom says that maybe some of the people who attend the social
night have to drive in from farther away places.
> ...dianne doesn't feel like cooking .. maybe i'll go to your safeway
and get chinese food...sounds good ...
Mmm...That does sound good. Hey, and you’re also brave enough to drive to South Surrey to
pickup chinese food.
> ... i can get a wheatgrass while i'm there ...
Any excuse I guess so John could get out to the juice bar and get his wheatgrass
.
I agree with you that even though you think you'll probably never beat me at Smart Mouth it's
still fun to play because:
-we learn new words.
-it gets us thinking up less commonly used words that we don't normally use everyday.
When we played "SORRY" last week, you said these things when it was time for me to cut the
deck one time after you shuffled:
> "cut the lawn"
I said this in one of the previous E-mails:
> That $30 million on last Wednesday’s 649 would have been more than
enough that my parents could move away to
> somewhere else that maybe they had always wanted to live and I had never wanted to live so
that Carol and me could

lots of kids and I’m sure

that amount to cut the
> lawn once every week during the summer. I’d hope
to maybe eventually downgrade to a smaller place though, this house

> "cut the cheese"
In an episode of one of the TV shows that I like,
Two
and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen's character sings to a kid a song
called "Who cut the cheese?" I haven't watched
anything on TV since before what happened a few days after Christmas, I saw this episode before
Christmas and it's the one called
"Putting Swim Fins on a Cat."
LM4Os
No, let's make that LM4#FCD477s. See if you could tell me what that one stands for
.
You also came up with the word "Wilco" one time when we played Smart Mouth within the last
few weeks and then you said "Roger Wilco" referring to the two-way radio term used as a voice
procedure which combines "Roger" meaning "Received" and "Wilco"
meaning "will comply." Roger Wilco is also the name of a character in the computer
game series “Space
Quest,” I made it to the end of and finished all six episodes in
this series when I played it many years ago.
I was also telling you when I last saw you two days ago about another PC game called
“Entrap.” This is one of the many classic DOS games that I play on my Pentium 133 MHZ
(the one where I can dual-boot either on Windows 3.1 and DOS or on Windows 95) in my bedroom. I
could send you a screenshot from this game sometime, or I could even send you a copy of the
game.
Now before this message gets any longer, I should give you that information that I’ve been
promising you for the last few weeks about the Windows Paint program. First, how I shrunk the
photo of Prince:
1. Open “Windows Paint,” should be in your “Accessories” folder.
2. Open the photo of Prince.
3. Under the “Image” menu, choose “Stretch/Skew.”
4. Now we’re going to stretch. Under “Stretch” at the top of the “Stretch and Skew” window,
you should see a field with “Horizontal” written to
the left of it and another field underneath that one with “Vertical” written to the left of that
one. There is also another “Horizontal” field and another “Vertical” field under the word “Skew”
which can be found underneath the fields for “Stretch.” The fields under “Stretch” though are
the ones where you want to change the percent of the image size. You’ll see “100” already
entered in both those fields. Change the value in both those fields to “50” without the quotes
and then click “OK.” This will reduce the image to
50% which would be half of its original size, choose “Undo” under the “Edit” menu and then enter
“25” in both those same fields to reduce the image to a quarter of its original size, or to make
the image even smaller instead of choosing “Undo” enter “25” in both fields while the image is
still 50% of its original size, etc. Keep in mind though, reducing the size of an image could
cause the image to lose its clarity. By this I mean
that if you try to make the image big again once you make it small it might not look as clear as
it had originally once made big again. The smaller the
size you reduce an image to, the more clarity the image will lose so
before playing around with your image maybe make a backup copy of it unless you don’t plan to
save change
s. You could accidentally save though and lose some
of the original clarity. Now how I cropped those first two images in
the reply I sent you
last Tuesday (Jan.22,2008) to your message titled
“This Is A House -- Not A Hotel...”
1. Open one of the images in “Windows Paint.”
2. Choose “Select All” under the “Edit” menu.
3. Using the mouse, drag the image up until the top of the building is just below the top of the
screen. Once there, click the “Select” button on the toolbox to the left of drawing area to
deselect the image.
4. Under the “Image” menu, choose “Attributes.” This is where you go if you want to make the
image smaller without reducing it in size. You can change the size of the Width and Height here,
keep reducing the height until there is no more white below the image.
“Windows Paint” is also one of the programs I used when I did all those house plans in that
binder I showed you. I used “Paint” to make the diagrams/drawings and
the “Text” button (the one with a capital letter A) on the toolbox
in “Paint” to add text to them, I used “Microsoft Word” though to do all the pages you saw in
that binder that were just text. I haven’t done anything more in that binder since doing the
front yard plan in the spring of last year (Spring 2007), I already told you that I
confined myself to the couch since what happened a few days after Christmas except for going on
the computer to lookup stuff for and send E-mails to you. Maybe we could do some of my scanning
when you’re here tomorrow afternoon after I have my snack, I have more pictures piling up
waiting to be scanned in and then printed out for the binders of dog and cat pictures that I’m
putting together including those ones you saw at my place in The Province newspaper of last
year’s Pet Superstars contest so maybe we better get some done now before the newspaper pages
start turning yellow.
Also when I saw you two days ago, I remember you saying just before my mom came home that
you’re happy with the way your life is right now except for the fact that you would like to
take more vacations if you could have your way. Well, there was also a time when I wanted to
take more vacations too than the amount my parents had time to take me. That was before I lost
my confidence in traveling a few years ago after getting sick two vacations in a row
(both to Washington state), but again keep in mind that if I want to live with Carol I had
already said in a previous E-mail she doesn’t like to drive very far. Her boundaries are among
the Fraser River, the Canada/U.S. border, and Langley. She also doesn’t like to travel too much
herself and hasn’t been away on any vacations since she and her ex-husband split up somewhere
around eight years ago, so on the other hand just one reason that her and me should be fine
living together would be that neither of us are too much into traveling. My shoe size can be
anywhere from size 9 to size 11 depending on the style and the make, the pair of shoes that I
currently wear every time you and me go out together are size 9.
My dad brought me home a “HOT 25” scratch-and-win ticket yesterday. I didn’t win anything,
that was only my second “HOT 25” and I’m “not having any luck on these either.” I’m quoting my
mom again.
For my snack when you’re here tomorrow afternoon, I think I will have a blue bag of the allan
Fruitasia gummies. I have both blue bags and green bags of allan gummies, the flavour in the
blue bags is called "Gummie Fruits” and the flavour in the green bags is called "Gummie
Berries." My dad will be taking tomorrow afternoon off work, the fourth Thursday in a row, and
I will see you at 1PM.
