John,
Larry said when I saw him yesterday that his birthday was last Thursday (on June the
4th). I knew he told me sometime a few weeks ago that it was coming up, but I couldn’t remember
exactly which week it was. I would’ve got him something if I had remembered the exact date.
It was the lady working at the Macs store yesterday, the guy who gives me the deals wasn’t
there. Also, the Macs store must’ve got changed around a bit since the last time I was
there...Remember that the chocolate bars use to be at the front of the store, they moved them to
the back and you now have to go passed the register to get to them.
We only got back from our walk at around 1:30 PM, so Larry asked me if I wanted to drive to
Crescent Beach and go for another short walk. He said that we’d get more use out of his hours if
he can drive me to different places instead of being stuck doing the same thing every time. And
then he didn’t think to say until we were at Crescent Beach that we could’ve brought our snack
with us. I also remember he suggested last Tuesday when we went to Campbell Park that sometime
we could bring a couple of lawn chairs with us and have a picnic in one of the parks, but I’m
not sure about the idea of having a picnic with either Larry or you after Carol suggested a
couple of times that I order my lunch at SUBWAY to go and then she and I would take it to the
park and I’d have it there. I never got to do that with her.
Now, Larry took some photos of me yesterday at Crescent Beach. He told me that because he
can’t figure out how to get his computer to read his camera chip, he can’t download any of the
pictures that I told you he’s been taking. He thinks that his wife, Natascha, would know how to
download the pictures so he said that he’ll get her to show him. Anyway, this is why he hadn’t
yet sent me any of the pictures.
Larry sent me three individual responses two nights ago (on Monday evening), one for
each of the E-mails that I sent to him since
the previous time I saw him. Interesting how he sent me three separate responses after he got
all three of my messages instead of including everything all in one long E-mail. Anyway, here is
the first of his three responses:
> My emails register here as sent…you
don’t have my response to “Riding for their father”? Or “My
thoughts
> on a nice
Saturday”?
Remember that the same issue occurred with two E-mails I sent to you; the one that I sent you
on Thursday Feb.14,2008 titled “FW: 5 Human Wonders” a
nd the one I sent you on Tuesday Aug.19,2008 that was called
“About dogs, videos, and other things.”
Both of those E-mails from way back are still in my “Sent” folder and they both register here as
sent. Now, here’s the second of Larry’s three responses:
> J I know many places where the three
of us could enjoy some pleasant hikes. I have done the
> Grouse Grind several times but perhaps
other locations would be better. Have you ever hiked
> over at Buntzen Lake (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buntzen_Lake)?
It’s funny that he mentioned Buntzen Lake after I just told you in the message I sent you
last Wednesday (on June the 3rd) about the couple of times I hiked around there with my
dad. On another note, Larry told me last week in person on the day we went to Campbell Park that
he once ran the entire horse trail that goes all the way around the park.
My auntie Ann phoned us last night. She’s coming out on August 5th from Ontario and she’s
bringing her daughter, my cousin Melissa, and her younger son, my cousin Joey, with her. They’re
coming out for Janice’s wedding on August the 8th. This is also funny because Marious in my
dad’s carpool who moved out here a year ago from London, Ontario is flying back there this
summer with his wife and their two daughters.
Also, my dad phoned my grandma on the evening before (evening of Monday
June the 8th). She said that they had to keep all of their doors and windows closed on one of
the days last week when it was really hot because they were working on their building that day
so it would’ve been too dusty and too noisy to keep anything open. And their building is half
covered in scaffolding and tarp right now while they fix the leaky condos.
When my dad told my grandma two nights ago on the phone that he just started reading a new
book, she said that she just finished reading
“Marley & Me.”
She said that it was suppose to be a good book and then she asked my dad if my mom wanted to
borrow it. Remember I told you in the E-mail I sent you on Thursday Dec.18,2008 that my mom
suggested she could get a copy of the book to put in my Christmas stocking and then she and I
could read it together? And my mom told me just within the last few days that they recently came
out with another book that was popular for a while called “Dewey The Library Cat.”
My dad got me one of those new PAC-MAN scratch-and-wins for me to try last night and I found
that the arrows on those ones are hard for me to see. Do you remember I told you my thoughts
about
Pac-Man,
the arcade game, in the E-mail that I sent you on Saturday June 14,2008:
> ...As for Pac-Man, I also have on a 3.5 inch floppy disk the first “Microsoft Return of
Arcade” package (the one
> released in 1995 for Windows 95) which contains Galaxian, Pac-Man, Pole Position, and Dig Dug.
My two
> favorites in that package were
Dig Dug
and Pac-Man, I didn’t care for the other two. And I own the PC version
> of
“Pac-Man: Adventures in Time,”
this one was released in 2000.
We haven’t saw my one adult male molly since before last weekend, it probably died and then
it wouldn't take long for all those little ones to pick at him once he was dead. He was my last
adult male molly plus all of my adult females are also gone, so the little ones are now all I
have left for mollies.
And I thought that maybe tomorrow afternoon we could drive over to Sunnyside Acres for our
walk and then after we have our snack we can scan that picture from
last Sunday’s Bosley’s Pet of the Week
of Simba and Sunshine. And when my mom read the part of the story that says they “love to have
their tummies scratched,” she then said out loud “how come our cats don’t like it when we
scratch their tummies.”
You can probably show up at my place anytime between 12:30 and 12:45 on Sunday to pick me up
and then we’ll be there at One to walk the dogs.
See you tomorrow at 1PM.
-Neil
