John,
I’ll start with the latest news from my dad’s carpool. At around twenty to four two
afternoons ago (on Wednesday), my dad got a call at work from Angie’s boss to let him know
that Angie wanted him to take her to emergency, so my dad went up to the 18th floor in his
building which is the floor that Angie works on. When he got up there, everyone was standing
around Angie who was on the floor in a great deal of pain. She didn’t want to go to either Royal
Columbian or Burnaby Hospital, she wanted to go to Peace Arch. My dad and the rest of his carpool could see that she was in agony from her back pain as they saw her walk into emergency after she got out of the car. We found out later that she didn’t have a heart attack. My dad told me that sometimes when you have pains like that it means that you could be having a heart attack, and it was a good thing that what happened to Angie wasn’t something serious.
Yesterday after my dentist appointment, we drove to the Peninsula Village Safeway and got
Chinese food to bring home for my lunch. And my mom told them to put in lots so that this time I
will have leftovers, remember one time just a few months ago she went back to Safeway and got me
some more rice from the Chinese food counter to have with the chow mein that I had leftover.
I will call Kris tonight to see if this Sunday’s still okay with him, and I’ll ask him if we
can show up there maybe at around 2PM. I will go with my mom to the Tim Hortons location at
South Point in the morning to pick out the six donuts, And maybe we’ll get two sprinkle donuts
this time incase Kris wants to have a sprinkled one. We’ll also have another bag of DVDs to take
to Kris because he asked us for more of our DVDs when he phoned us last Saturday evening
(on May 9th). And when Kris phoned us at around 5PM on the afternoon of Wednesday May 6th, he
said that he’s now going to physiotherapy as of then for three times every week and for two
hours each session.
My mom told me about the shooting that they said on last Tuesday’s noon news just three days
ago happened near 132nd Street and Highway 10. That happened not far from your place.
One of the three potlights that are in my bathroom upstairs burnt out a few days ago. My mom
didn’t know until after she put in the new bulb that these kind take more time to brighten than
the other two bulbs in my bathroom that are currently still working. My dad told us later that
just from what he heard these compact florescent potbulbs are suppose to save electricity and
then he said that the other kind are getting harder to find so we might have to eventually put
this kind in he and my mom’s bathroom if they have stopped making the other ones. Am
I gunna have to add one extra thing to
my routine only because of the possibility
that they stopped making a certain light bulb, remember to go upstairs and turn on bathroom
light five minutes before I go in for my shower? Also once all three of the lights in my
bathroom have been replaced, think about when I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of
the night and then I flick the switch after the light has been turned off for a few hours.
Speaking about my bathroom, my mom and dad got a new sink for in there when they were out
shopping last month on Sunday Apr..5,2009. You heard my dad say not long before then that he
noticed the one I already had was starting to rust, that one was just made out of metal and the
new one that they bought for me is made out of porcelain. The metal sink I had that was just
replaced was off-white and my parents told me that they did see one metal sink in the store that
day that was the same colour, but they said that the porcelain should last longer. And before I
saw the new sink for the first time, they told me that it was the closest they could find that
looked off-white. Once they put the new sink in, it looked (and still looks) more white to me
than off-white. The new sink’s also got more of a ledge on it so that the water will run back
into the sink and my parents also got new different looking taps to go with the new sink, I
wasn’t sure about the new look at first. Just like when I talked before about plastic computer
mats and I wasn’t sure for a while whether I’d like the new kind that we got or if I preferred
the previous one, I seem to have gotten use to the new sink by now.
My dad forwarded this E-mail to me that he got yesterday from my auntie Karen and uncle
Robert with pictures that Jen’s mom and dad took of the new baby:

Hello everyone … just a quick e-mail
and a few pictures of our new addition. Jennifer and Jeff were great during the delivery and
Jacob Riley Allen arrived with all the right parts and good health. He’s a great little guy –
hope you enjoy the pictures.
I tried to put them in order as a little story – but 9d.jpg came first (it should be the last
picture you open – the rest are in the correct order).
Talk to you soon.
Lois & David – happy new grandparents

They are put together as a neat little story.
And did you look at the pictures and the
video yet of the new Canada Line bridge over the north arm of the Fraser River between Vancouver
and Richmond? They’re still waiting at this location:

I said in the E-mail I sent you on Monday May 4th that my dad took the skytrain pictures from
Kent Avenue when he was out at BC Hydro’s South Vancouver substation on Wednesday April 29th. My
dad told me that he saw a bicycle going across the new bridge on the same day he took the
pictures so the pedestrian and bicycle pathway that’s underneath the new bridge must now be
open.
Also, my mom went online yesterday afternoon to search for Rachael Hale’s website. She’s the lady who made the calendar that I told you I got last Christmas. The website has lots of cute cat and dog photos and here’s the link:
