You shouldn’t have sent me two heavy messages between two of our visits. And you didn’t need
to send a long response after the short message that I sent you last Wednesday titled “I'm sick
again” (which was a short message not counting the PS), especially because I didn’t mention
Carol’s name once in last Wednesday’s message and I didn’t say anything more about her. I told
you that I needed time first to think about things that you talked about in your first heavy
response.
Also notice that you didn’t talk in circles because you didn’t talk to me in person, instead
you E-mailed about what you had to say after I brought Carol up again.
> ..ièd rather email about than talk in person
sometimes because things are clearer
I agree with that. I’d rather not go back to the old method whereas you talked to me in person. I couldn’t always remember everything you discussed when it came time to E-mail you after some of those heavy conversations that you and I had in person. And I know you said two days ago that I didn’t need to respond to your two heavy E-mails about Carol, but I do plan to write you a response. Please no heavy conversations tomorrow.
Now, points about stories that have been in the newspaper and on the TV news:
• My mom pointed out the story to me when she saw it on the six o’clock news last Wednesday (the 25th) about a scientist at UBC who found a bunch of new species of jumping spiders, so I already knew about that before you read the story in the paper when you were at my place on the next day.
• You know that I also already knew about the Albion ferry's last sailing is set for July
31st because I told you that my mom read me the story that was in last Thursday’s Vancouver Sun
before you came here that day, but did you know that the ferry will run for one month after the
new bridge opens to help drivers through the transition. And I didn’t show you these pictures
yet of the Golden Ears Bridge that my grandma forwarded to my dad a little more than a month ago
on Friday Feb.20,2009 . I uploaded them to
http://www.stuntsillusion.com/download/tempfile9.zip
• Last Wednesday was Wesla Wong’s birthday, so at the end of the Noon News Hour on that day
Randene brought out a batch of cupcakes that she made and decorated. And Wesla also announced on
that same day that she’s getting married.
• And I didn’t tell you yet about Randene brought up on February 23rd’s Noon News that when
she was a guest host on the Brother Jake Show on Rock 101, she was asked to bring in some old
records to play. She really liked “Seasons in the Sun” by Terry Jacks, but Jake wouldn’t-let
her play that one. He asked her back later when Terry Jacks was on the show and they played it
then. And I didn’t know until my mom told me about this story that Terry Jacks is Canadian.
• And my dad told me about the short story that was on yesterday on the six o’clock news that
the first trip was taken on the Canada Line. This train didn’t have to stop at any stations, it
just went straight to the airport from Vancouver's Waterfront station. And the line isn’t open
yet to passengers, only the Premier and some of the mayors went aboard this trip.
My dad already knew before you read the story two days ago (on Thursday afternoon)
that as of September 15th 2009 all pleasure craft operators will have to carry proof of
competency. He found out at the “Vancouver International Boat Show” when he went there last
month with Kiernan that they’re making it mandatory to take the exam starting this year. My dad
said that this is just another way for the government to get some extra money out of you because
you’ll have to pay $100 for the first year. And my dad didn’t take my friend, Mac, with him to
the other Boat Show that was on in Abbotsford a few weeks later. That was when we were starting
to get sick and he didn’t want to pass the bug onto Mac because of his heart problems. Instead,
my dad went to that Boat Show by himself and he still plans to do something else with Mac
another time.
My mom got me some ORBIT COOKIE brand bunny-shaped sugar cookies when they were out two days
ago. Remember I told you in a previous E-mail that she got me some of the same cookies at
Easter two years ago (Easter 2007) except those ones only had pink sprinkles on them?
These ones that she got for me just two days ago come in both pink and yellow. She also looked
in the South Point Save-On and in the Willowbrook Safeway on that same day, but she still didn’t
find graham wafer Thinsations “Thin Crisps.” She said that she still sees all the other kinds of
Thinsations “Thin Crisps” in all of the stores that she’s looked in lately, so she doesn't know
whether they stopped making that flavour or what happened. And because she hasn’t found “Cheese
Nips Party Mix” for a long time, she got me a new snack to try...Pepperidge Farm brand “Cheddar”
flavour Goldfish crackers. She didn’t get the one that had extra cheddar, just the regular
Cheddar flavour.
My dad moved the baby mollies that I had left in my six gallon down to the 38 gallon two days
ago after you left, there were only three left up there. Two kuhli loaches are now all that I
have left in my six gallon tank after my dad moved those three babies downstairs. Also, remember
I told you in the E-mail I sent you two months ago on Sunday Jan.25,2009 that my dad thought all
of the swords in my five gallon were going to be females because they were getting big and none
of them had grown tails yet? These are the orange fish that are in my 32 gallon right now and
when my dad looked in that tank just two days ago, he said that it looks like a couple of the
smaller baby swords are going to be males because he saw that one’s starting to get a pointy
tail. So now we don’t have to look for a male sword when I go out fish shopping with my dad.
Remember that we didn’t see any cats or dogs (we didn’t even hear any dogs bark) when we went
for our walk last Sunday (the 22nd) and then I said about how it was especially weird seeing how
Sunday was one of the nicest days that we had within the last few weeks, people were outside
working in their yards etc. My mom said that she saw lots of dogs when she and my dad were out
on Thursday just two days ago. And we don’t know why the HandyDART was parked on the street in
front of my place yesterday for twenty minutes after it dropped off Muriel.
When I told my mom that you put the “Cheers” button on the scanner while I was in the
bathroom, pretended to use the phone, and put the Indiana Jones pic on the scanner, she said
that she couldn’t believe you still felt up to joking around that much when you had a cold. And
when we saw each other two days ago, you asked me if what I had was allergies or a relapse of my
cold. I told you before that I don’t have any allergies that we know of, so this week was
probably a relapse of the previous cold that I had a few weeks ago.
Chloe had not one but two throw ups yesterday, and this was the first time when they were
less than an hour apart. In the late afternoon, she threw up on the floor in the doorway to my
bedroom. And then about an hour later, I was sitting on the couch with my TV table in the middle
of having my supper and Chloe was on the loveseat when Chloe had a tiny throw up on the loveseat
all of a sudden.
My dad said that he thought he must’ve had an angel watching over him two days ago when he
was driving along Marine Drive in Burnaby. He was in a bit of a hurry and the car in front of
him was blocking his way and then it got pulled over a little further on because it was
speeding. And he said that if that other car wasn’t in front of him, he would’ve been the one
who got a ticket.
And my dad phoned out to my auntie Karen two nights ago (on Thursday evening). She said that her son’s, my cousin Jeff’s, wife is as big as a house and her baby’s due next month.
See you tomorrow at 1PM.
-Neil
P.S. I translated the misspelled article that Larry sent me:
THE PHENOMENAL POWER OF THE HUMAN MIND.
According to a research at Cambridge University, it doesn’t matter in what order the letters in
a word are, the only important things is that the first and last letter be in the right place.
The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without problem. This is because the
human mind does not read every letter by itself, but the word as a whole.
