John,
I remember you said two days ago (on Monday)
before we went for our walk that we could go around my bigger block if I had a bigger block and
you said that we could start by just going around my small block the first time when we go for a
walk, go around my big block the second time, do the bigger block the next time, and then for
the time after that did you word it as “the biggest block” or “the really big block?” Even
though I don’t have more than just the small block and the big block where I live, you know that
I’d have all four if I lived in this neighbourhood:
• The first time, go around the block that’s
highlighted in red.
• Then add the orange the second time.
• Add the purple the next time.
• And green is the humongous block.
When we walked by the elementary school two days ago
and I told you that I could hear the Band class practicing, you said that we should go in there
and put on a jungle dance for the kids in the Band class. I recently told you in the E-mail I
sent you on Saturday Jan.31,2009 that
I never took Band when I was in High School
because it would’ve been too loud for me, but I haven’t told you yet that I almost had to take
it for the rest of grade seven. Remember I told you before that I attended Bayridge for my last
three months of grade seven, that’s the name of the elementary school that you and I walked by
two days ago, and Cindrich Elementary was where I attended all of grades five and six as well as
the first seven months of grade seven. Band was optional when I started grade seven and I chose
not to take it, but they almost made me take it after I moved and I got to Bayridge because
every grade seven there was required to take Band. When I told Carol about this, she thought
that this was because all elementary schools in South Surrey require grade sevens to take Band
so that they would’ve had an opportunity to play an instrument in their life incase they decide
not to continue taking Band courses in High School. That requirement might not apply at
elementary schools in Whalley seeing how a lot of the people who live there don’t have as much
money as those who live down here. I didn’t have to take Band at Bayridge though because they
decided later that I came too late in the year. When I started High School, grade eights got a
choice between Band and Fine Arts. I chose “Fine Arts” which was half a semester of Art and half
a semester of Drama, plus you could only take Band in High School if you took it in grade
seven.
And when we walked by the yellow rancher on 142nd
Street that’s for sale by Karley Smith, you asked me again if she’s the one I met. I also told
you in the January 31st E-mail that she’s not the one I met. Mel
Smith’s the realtor who sold us our house (the one that we’re
living in now) and Todd Antifaev’s the one who Carol knows. Anyway, you then asked me if that’s
my dream home. Even though you said when we walked by it two days ago about how it’s smaller, I
told you in the E-mail I sent you on Tuesday Nov.25,2008 that if I lived there
I would also have to listen to the noise of the traffic that goes by
everyday going to and from Bayridge Elementary.
I also remember you said two days ago on our walk that
we should start seeing more free stuff at the end of peoples’ driveways the more it gets closer
to spring. Speaking about free stuff, I told you in the E-mail I sent you yesterday that I got
out with my mom for a walk last Sunday (on the 15th of this month) in the afternoon and
it was on that walk when we saw a black TV stand that somebody had at the end of their driveway.
I don’t know why they were getting rid of it or why they might not want to try and sell it, it
looked to be in good condition from what I could see. If there were any marks or scratches
though, I’d think that it could probably be stripped down and then revarnished.
And did you get the E-mail that I sent you yesterday
titled “More lousy sleeps?” I want to make sure that you got it and you read it before you come
here tomorrow, so here it is incase you didn’t get it:
John,
I didn’t sleep good last night and my mom was surprised when I told her because she knows
that I got lots of exercise the last three days, I got out two days ago (on Sunday
afternoon) with her for a walk and I got out with her again on the afternoon before for another
walk. She thinks maybe it was the WESTERN FAMILY iced tea that I had to drink with my evening
snack yesterday which she knows had some caffeine in it but she doesn’t know how much. I never
knew until today that iced tea has caffeine in it. I told you in previous E-mails that I try not
to have more than two things per day that have caffeine in them, I had one of the “Chips Ahoy”
pudding cups yesterday for my dessert after supper and then you know that I had the Oreo
Thinsations for my snack earlier in the day. If my mom thought I already knew that iced tea has
caffeine in it, then why did she let me get away with having three things yesterday that have
caffeine in them? My total so far for this month is now up to six lousy sleeps. Is there not
some kind of pill that I could take only on nights if I don’t fall asleep before a certain
time?
I hope you will write me before Thursday.
-Neil
