LOL

My mom saw last night on the TV news the story about the people complaining because of the snow and the city isn’t clearing it fast enough for them. And I remember that you read in the paper when you were here about yesterday’s transit chaos, my dad talked to one lady yesterday at work who said that she took the bus in from Surrey and it took her an hour and a half to get in.

Now today, my dad had to go into Vancouver to give his platelet donation and it was awful. There were big puddles and there’s still lots of snow on the side streets making it hard to get around. Izzy went outside this morning when it was really raining and then she was all wet when she came back in. My mom saw her carrying around a dead bird when she was out there, we’re not sure whether she killed another one or if she was packing around the same one that she killed last Saturday afternoon (on the 2nd of this month).

My dad’s hat blew off his head when he was walking down our alley two days ago (on Sunday afternoon) after he went to the store. It landed ten feet behind him. He then put his hand over his head and then when he realized it was still really windy he put his hood over his hat. It was so windy that afternoon that my mom wouldn’t let the cats outside. Speaking about the wind, I’m glad that we didn’t lose our power on Christmas Day. Our power flickered twice within five minutes in the afternoon on Christmas Day and our computer downstairs rebooted both times. I’m also glad that I don’t live someplace where the weather’s like this all year round.

And they came and picked up the Hillman last Saturday just after 6PM. There was a bunch of people in the tow truck, the driver had his wife and their two kids with him. I was surprised that he would have that many people in the cab of his tow truck. And he said that they were going to head back to Hope after they left our place, I told you that’s where Rod lives who bought the Hillman. Rod didn’t come out here with the guy that day, but Rob who lives across our back alley came over and helped the guy roll the Hillman onto the truck. A couple of Rob’s friends who live in Eastern Canada were staying with Rob this last weekend and they came over to help roll the car too.

Speaking about Rob, my mom saw a snowman in his backyard when she looked out from upstairs on Christmas Eve Day (on Wednesday Dec.24,2008). It was wearing a bright orange hard hat and had sticks in it for arms that were pointing upward. A while later on the same day (again, on Christmas Eve), my mom saw their two dogs out running around in the same yard. Before she knew they were out there, she said that the little dog, Duke, might have to ride on the back of the bigger one because there was so much snow so she then said later that maybe the bigger dog goes in front of Duke and clears a path for it. And my dad took a picture from our yard of their snowman, I attached the pic to the bottom of this E-mail. My dad took lots of bird pictures on the morning when I told you he had his camera on my tripod, but he took so many that there are too many for me to send to you so I will include them on the CD of images that I’m making for you which I stopped working on a few months ago when my sleep patterns first started getting messed up. Speaking about this, you said something about you added a koi pond to your place on YoVille. Remember that I created my account with Facebook on Friday August 29th 2008, but I haven’t done anything with it yet because you know that I haven’t been feeling ambitious enough to do anything on most of the afternoons since then. And did you say that those koi ponds were only a limited time thing?

I remember one of the last times when you saw me before Christmas Day, you said about those pills are no good if they help me sleep at night but also make me feel sleepy during the day. That was the Olanzapine, but since my mom doubled the dose I take of the pills that I’m on now there have still been a few days on which I sleep into the early afternoon if I don’t have anything to get up for. And the night before Christmas Day was the only night so far since doubling the dose on which I had a lousy sleep.

My mom had a lousy sleep both on last night and the night before. She said that both of those nights she tossed and turned, turned and tossed. And I don’t think that I myself could make a New Year's resolution to have better sleeps because it’s not possible to control how you’re going to sleep.

My dad said that he was reading his E-mails yesterday at work until ten after 4PM. He got about 250 altogether yesterday when he first checked after coming back from holidays, but 200 of them were from “his buddy” the system administrator letting him know that his mailbox was full. They send an E-mail every twenty minutes until he deletes some and clears some space. That’s why my dad says that it’s a good thing if you can sort your E-mails by “Sender,” then you could just delete the ones that are repeated.

A couple days ago, my mom put one of the two green mouse pads that I got for Christmas by the downstairs computer and then she threw away the plain green one that was already there because it was getting worn out. I noticed that the two new mouse pads aren’t quite as thick as the one that my mom threw away though, and she said that she got the last two plain green ones that were in the Office Depot location she was at.

And Izzy found the mouse hung up in the family room doorway yesterday after you left. I looked at the TV when I walked through the living room the first time yesterday after I came out of the bathroom, but I didn’t think that you would go there.

Oh, in my previous E-mail where I talked about my big mollies had babies last Wednesday evening (December 31st 2008) that are a different colour, I forgot to say that my dad was up trying to catch them after he discovered them that same evening because he saw that the bigger mollies (their parents) were chasing the little ones. He then moved them upstairs to the six gallon fish tank that’s in my room and then my dad said to me a few days later that he noticed those big mollies he got me at Metrotown seem to be doing well. And one of my older big black mollies downstairs in the 38 gallon died sometime not long after I got my latest batch of babies just last week.

See you on Thursday at 1PM.

-Neil

P.S. Here’s the pic of our neighbours’ snowman in their yard across our back alley on Christmas Day:

Now here’s a circle around the cat gift bag that I told you I really liked, the one that my two green mouse pads were put together inside:

Now here’s a pic of Chloe that I just took this afternoon. We don’t usually see her laying on that blanket that’s in front of the fireplace in our family room.
