John,
Thanks for your response. My mom said quote “wow, that’s a long one for John.”
You are right to think that it wouldn’t matter whether I’m working with a younger or and
older male, it would just depend on the person. I especially don’t want another female worker
after what happened with Carol.
Anyway, Ray phoned my mom this morning. She told him that we’ll give Larry a try so Ray then
said that he’ll give Larry our phone number so that he could call us and then he could maybe sit
in on one of our sessions.
You read in
yesterday’s E-mail
that I made it out shopping with my mom. We first stopped and had lunch at A&W, the one on 200th
Street that is near Willowbrook Mall. I had my usual whistle dog with medium fries and a medium
Sprite, my mom also had a whistle dog and she got an iced tea to drink with hers. She didn’t get
fries or any other sides though. After lunch, we then went over to the mall. We first looked in
the Hallmark Cards store where I found a little cat snow globe that I liked so I hinted to my
mom that I wouldn’t mind it in my Christmas stocking. She then said that if I wanted it we had
to get it now because the one we were looking at was the only one she could see that was left.
We didn’t find out until we were paying that they did have more in the back. After Hallmark, we
then went into the Bay where I bought a couple boxes of Lindt chocolates to give to my friend,
Kris, for Christmas. Also when we were in the Bay, we saw all sorts of stuff that I wouldn’t
mind getting for Christmas. We saw a little cat that was put out by the Bay and wearing a Bay
scarf and we also saw boxes of holiday-shaped shortbread cookies. After the Bay, we saw a kiosk
of calendars in the mall. They had a whole bunch of cat ones. We then got for my afternoon snack
a medium strawberry Julius from Orange Julius.
At one point yesterday while we were in the car, I said to my mom about how I haven’t heard
one Christmas song yet this year on my favorite radio station, QM/FM. She then told me about
this radio station (106.9) that’s somewhere in Washington state and plays all Christmas
carols, she tried it while she was out two days ago (on Monday afternoon) but it wasn’t
coming in very good.
Later when we were driving home yesterday after we did our shopping, we passed one of those
Ford Flexes that I told you in the E-mail I sent you on Tuesday Nov.18,2008 that I thought they
looked ugly and I sent you a link to the vehicle in that same previous E-mail. Also, remember
when we were at Diary Queen last Thursday we saw a Toyota Camry hybrid in the parking lot that
was parked next to your Camry and you said about how its windows weren’t quite as high as what
I’d want. And remember in the E-mail I sent you on Saturday Oct.25,2008 where I compared the
2008 Honda Accord to the 2001 Accord, I said that it was while we were driving home after we
picked Kris up on the Saturday before for my birthday dinner when we saw the 2008 Accord. I
think I also saw then that the 2008 Accord also has those smaller windows that the Toyota Camry
hybrid has, but I hope that some of the manufacturers are still making sedans today that have
the larger windows that I like.
Also last Thursday while we were in the meeting, you remember I said “Honda Prelude” when
Ann, the nurse, asked me what my most favorite vehicle is. Well my favorite could either be the
Prelude or those hybrid cars sound promising to me too. Remember that the only time so far I got
to ride in a hybrid was the time when my dad brought a Toyota Prius home from his work, but the
sad thing was that I only got to ride in it just to the end of the driveway and back because of
Hydro policy. Now the Honda Prelude might not necessarily be my favorite, I haven’t seen many
other sporty two-door cars that have manual transmissions besides the Prelude. And for all I
know, I might not even like the look of the Prelude today and then I could decide that I like
some of today’s other sporty two-door cars better. Do you think that either a Honda Prelude or
any kind of hybrid vehicle could be your next car when it comes time for your Camry to be
retired, John? It’ll have to have an automatic transmission though if you get say a Honda
Prelude for example or only Di will be able to drive it.
And speaking about cars, it looks like my dad finally sold the Hillman. I haven’t told you
yet, but remember that guy named Rod I told you about who lives in Hope and has eleven Scouts on
his lot. He came out a few weekends ago (on Saturday Nov.22,2008) after supper to have a
look at the Hillman. He got here at around 8:30 and then he was going to go meet his girlfriend
up in Guildford who gets off work at 10PM. And he said that he’ll take the Hillman, but he paid
my dad $300 to hold it for him for the next two months until he can come take it.
You heard my dad say at last Thursday’s meeting that Kiernan still has his Honda Civic. He’s
my cousin, David’s, ex-girlfriend’s son who my dad took with him on his trip last summer. Now it
was on the evening before the day of the meeting when my dad received an E-mail response from
Kiernan after my dad sent an E-mail to Kiernan on the evening of the day before (Tuesday
Nov.25,2008). Kiernan said in his E-mail that he was sad to see the old car go but he was happy
to hear that someone does want to restore it. And he also said that he’ll be happy to go with my
dad to the Boat Show if he goes when it’s on. Kiernan said that he’ll go anywhere, just give him
a call. My dad said that he wouldn’t mind trying to find a better boat. He wouldn’t mind one
that’s a little bit bigger that the one he has now and has more comfortable seating, he also
wouldn’t mind something that has a bit of a roof. Maybe one of those little two-seater ones that
has a windshield so that you can sit in front of the windshield and steer instead of having to
pull the motor all the time.
I didn’t know that Ray’s cell phone was an iPhone until yesterday when my mom told my dad
that I got to have a look at it. I didn’t know where the keypad was until I heard my mom tell my
dad that I got to have a look at the iPhone, my mom thinks that maybe you have to press one of
the icons on the screen to make the keypad come up.
Now all of this talk about my friend, Kris, you and I will have to go and deliver his
Christmas and birthday presents to him sometime before Christmas. I remember when my dad and I
were dropping him off after my birthday supper, he said that he wouldn’t mind seeing me once
more before Christmas. Don’t forget that his birthday is just a few days after Christmas Day, I
still have to buy him a present for his birthday though.
Today for my afternoon snack, I had that “peanut butter and milk chocolate” bar that was in
the bag of goodies from Purdys that Mac gave me for my birthday.
I remember when you were here two days ago on Monday afternoon, you were wondering what you
saw on our kitchen table. I told you before that my mom was going to
make Christmas stockings for each of our cats and for myself. Remember
we found the kind of material right away that we wanted to make the cats’ stockings but it took
us a while to find the material that I wanted to use for my stocking.
And my dad told me this joke a couple days ago that he either heard or read somewhere:
Q: Why is six afraid of seven?
A: Because seven ate nine.
Get it, seven “eight” nine!
See you tomorrow at 1PM.
-Neil
P.S. It’s now almost 5PM and just a few seconds ago my mom saw an Elmo Christmas stocking in
the flyer for Canadian Tire.
Hi Neil
your certainly right about me not responding all the time to your great emails
, Sometimes its because i get busy and don't have the time. Sometimes I'd rather talk in person
about what you've written . Other times I just forget . Its like I read your email with the
intent to write back but forget to . i'll make an effort to do better.
Larry seems like a great guy .It seems getting someone to work weekends is
difficult .It could be that older guys don/t have time on the weekends .It seems they're getting
older guys 'cause you and i get along ? Anyways , are you opposed to working with younger
people? I didn't think that would have mattered? Also I know you said you preferred having a
male worker . Does that mean you don't want a female worker ? I'm thinking that if Spectrum
knows you don't care about age or possibly a female worker they may have more possibilties for
people to work weekends .
so long for now ,, Chloe's best friend..john...lol
