John,
Ray phoned my mom this morning to let her know that Lorne will come here on Monday at 1PM.
When we get back to South Surrey tomorrow after my dentist appointment, I plan to go with my mom
to the Wal-Mart on 24th Avenue and pick up some chocolate cupcakes to have for dessert on Monday
after our Chinese dinner. I mean the cupcakes that I told you I saw in their grocery section and
thought looked good. I also plan to pick up my lunch at McDonald's when we’re in Wal-Mart and
also a couple donuts at the Tim Hortons there to bring home for my afternoon snack. And my
grandparents’ anniversary is this Friday (on the 7th), my mom and dad might get together
with them and do something on Monday while you’re with me if my grandparents are available on
that day.
My dad phoned my auntie Darlene last Sunday (on the 2nd of this month) and she said
that my old uncle Jim isn’t doing well. He was who Darlene was married to before she met her
common-law husband, Graham, and Jim is also my cousin Walter's dad. Darlene saw Jim a few months
ago at Mackenzie’s funeral up in Williams Lake and he didn’t look too healthy. We don’t know if
he’ll live much longer. He’s only in his 60s but he didn’t live the best of lifestyles, he did a
lot of partying.
My dad drove through our old neighbourhood in Whalley yesterday. He couldn’t see much of our
old house because the hedge in front of it has gotten too tall, but he saw that the house next
to it is now up for sale. That’s George Cacic’s house. Remember he’s the younger son of Mike
Cacic, my neighbour who passed away last January. And my dad even looked up George’s house on
the internet. We know that it’s quite a small house, but there’s a few pictures online and by
looking at those pictures it looked like a nice little house.
My mom tried on a couple pairs of pants when she was at Willowbrook mall while you were with
me two afternoons ago, but she didn’t buy any because none of the pairs that she tried on fit
her right. She said to me that day after you left that she should’ve gone somewhere else seeing
how she didn’t have any luck at Willowbrook. She also told me that she saw they have lots of
Christmas stuff out in the stores now. And have you seen any Christmas commercials on TV yet,
I’ve seen a few over the last few days when I watched my shows in the evenings.
You were busy two days ago, I took pictures of two of the three latest surprises that we
discovered and you can see those pics at the bottom of this E-mail. Didn’t take picture of
spring in light because we thought you did that one before, just put it on a bit different way
this time.
My dad moved my female sword yesterday out of the breeding cage and back into my 32 gallon
tank because he saw that it didn’t look fat anymore. If it had babies, the other fish in my five
gallon must’ve ate them.
My mom told me that they had this dog on yesterday’s Adopt-A-Pet that they said was so ugly
that it was cute. And it was the same colour as Brandy, the dog who we had put down almost three
years ago, but this dog was a bit bigger than Brandy.
Speaking about dogs, remember I said in the message I sent you last Wednesday
(Oct.29,2008) that Angie from my dad’s carpool and her husband, Andy, were looking after her
mom’s bird and her sister’s dog. I found out yesterday from my dad that Angie’s sister lives in
just a small apartment in which she has a small plastic tent with newspapers on the floor inside
the tent, the dog does its business inside the tent. The dog got use to going outside when it
was with Angie and Andy, and then once the sister got her dog back it didn’t want to use the
inside tent anymore. Now Angie and Andy are thinking about getting a dog, a cockapoo which is a
cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a poodle.
My mom read in the paper a couple days ago that they’re going to make a sequel to the movie
“Cats & Dogs”
which I own a fullscreen copy of on DVD. The sequel’s going to be called
“Tinkles' Revenge,”
that’s the name of
the cat that tried to take over in the first movie.
And the sequel won’t be out until sometime around 2010.
I remember when we were looking at those cat pictures on The Province website two days ago,
you asked me if different people get in every week. My mom told me that they have a different
contest every week but only for something like five weeks each year.
I also remember that you asked me who usually won when I use to play “SORRY” with my mom and
dad, I asked my mom and she remembered that it was a bit of everybody. And I told you that I
never played “Connect Four” with my parents but I use to play “Connect
Four” with Carol.
You heard my mom say that I use to wear Velcro shoes. I’ll tell you myself that I didn’t
start wearing lace-ups until I was in High School.
If you remember, you might’ve saw them when my mom brought these home one of the last times
you were here that she brought home four bags of allan gummies. She brought me two blue bags of
“Gummie Fruits” and two green bags of “Gummie Berries.” I went to have one of those bags of
allan gummies yesterday for my afternoon snack, but we found out once we got the bag open that
all of the gummies in that bag were stuck together. I then took a bite out of one of the gummies
to find out that they were too chewy. All four of the bags were like that, so my mom ended up
throwing away all four bags and I instead ended up having Dare juicy jubes yesterday for my
afternoon snack. My mom thought that maybe either they got smooshed, had been sitting around in
the store too long, or had melted together, so she said that next time when she goes out and
looks for allan gummies maybe she’ll try a different Zellers location. I then reminded her that
it seems to me if I remember correctly that the Zellers store in Semiahmoo Mall is the only
location that she’s been finding the allan gummies at lately and hasn’t seen them when she
checked other locations. And speaking about snacks BTW, I have to agree with you after I tried a
couple of your Glosette Raisins two afternoons ago that the ones from the Safeway bulk section
taste fresher than the packaged ones.
And it was Izzy who found your potato chip
under the couch. Even though you read the last E-mail I sent you, when you were here two days
ago you couldn’t remember whether it was her or me who found it. Here again is the portion from
my previous E-mail in which I told you this:
> ...And Izzy found your potato chip that you dropped and couldn’t
find. It was under the couch. She found it, she
> liked it, and she thought that it was a good snack.
