John,
I called my friend, Mac, yesterday afternoon and we’re (my parents and myself) are
taking him out for supper tonight to Moxie's. I also told him when I talked to him yesterday on
the phone about you and me on the swings the day before. When I told Mac about seeing you, a 55
year old man, on a swing and that I myself haven’t been on a swing for ten years, he then said
that he himself who is 26 almost went on a slide at one time just two months ago. And then I
told him about you standing up and swinging, he then told me not to try that so I then told him
that I said to you in person two days ago that I wouldn’t ever want to try that myself. Mac also
said that I especially wouldn’t want to try that if there’s gravel underneath the swings like
there is underneath the ones we were on two days ago at Bayridge Elementary because you could
split your head open if you fall off.
I printed out that story off the Williams Lake Tribune's website in large font so that I
could read it to Mac later today and we now have the pictures of Mackenzie ready to show to him.
Maybe we could leave the pictures out for me to show you tomorrow in person before they go back
in our albums seeing how you didn’t want me to send them via E-mail.
And when my dad phoned us today at lunch, he was complaining again that he had a sore throat.
Isn’t this how his last cold (the Chinese one) started if I remember correctly!
Even though I said to you before that I could ride with my parents on the way to our meetings
in PoCo if we take separate vehicles, my mom thought that I should ride with you on the way
there next Thursday so that you’ll have company unless you decide to meet us over there.
I had some of the Neapolitan ice cream in a waffle cone for my afternoon snack yesterday. And speaking about snacks, you thought that it might’ve been something that I had for supper last Saturday (on July the 5th) that kept me up having messy toots that night. For my evening snack that day I had some of the BROOKSIDE brand chocolate almonds that I like (the ones that we buy at Costco) and to drink with that I had some of the Coke from the bottle that my dad got for free from the liquor store. My mom was wondering if it could’ve been the Coke that gave me the messy toots. I told my mom that I myself don’t remember the Coke bothering me (or at least not that bad) the first few times when I drank from that bottle before last Saturday but she thinks that it did bother me just as bad those times.
That John guy from Sears who came yesterday afternoon to look at my blinds asked me when he was here if I myself like the area in which we currently live (South Surrey). My mom then said that she knows one good thing is that it’s cooler than some of the other areas that get stifling hot in the summer.
And then John phoned us this morning to let us know that they can’t get new blinds for me in
the colour that I wanted (the same colour as my old blinds that just broke) which is
“hint of mint” green, so they’ll order them for me in “sage.” I don’t like it when these things
go out of style and they stop making them like the kind of binders that I’m looking for or the
plain blue T-shirt that I bought at Sears a few years ago that Chloe tore a hole in with her
claw. My dad said to John when he was here yesterday that he had originally hoped when he first
learned my blinds needed replacing that he could easily just go into one of the Sears stores,
walk up to the counter with the form, and say to them “Mine broke, order me a new one.” Even
though my mom keeps telling me that all of the stores would have the same colours seeing how she
knows that all of the stores carry the same brands, I keep saying to her that she should look
online and see if any of the stores buy venetian blinds from any companies that Sears doesn’t
deal with. John also said that they could send my old blinds off to be fixed but then my dad
said that it’s better to have something new because something else could go wrong once we get
them back. And the blinds that I have that just broke are now seven years old.
John also told us when he was here yesterday that he’s now worked for Sears for just as long
as my dad’s worked for Hydro, 25 years. My dad then asked John if he knew Vince who lived down
the street from us when we lived in Whalley and who worked at the Sears location that use to be
in Central City Mall. John doesn’t think he knew him and we ourselves assume that Vince is
probably retired by now.
See you tomorrow at 1PM.
