John,
My mom’s first stop after she left our house yesterday afternoon was Costco (the
Surrey location on King George near 76th Avenue) because there were a lot of things that we
needed picked up there. She found a pack with four pairs of Stanfield's underwear I like that
doesn’t have the bump inside them and she bought it for me. The pack of underwear I got for
Christmas last month was a pack with three pairs of the exact same Stanfield's underwear
(the kind without the bump inside them) and she told me she bought that pack at the Sears store
in Guildford Mall, so now I know places that carry the right kind of underwear that I like
include the Surrey Costco and the Guildford Sears. Last time we looked in the Bay in Willowbrook
Mall, the Stanfield's underwear they had would be the kind that I don’t like with the
bump inside them. Anyway after Costco, my mom drove back to South Surrey and went to the Choices
Market on King George. She needed to buy me some more of my “natural Factors” yogurt pills
because I was starting to run low. These yogurt pills have Acidophilus and Bifidus in them and I
take two of these pills per day, one after I brush my teeth after I have lunch (I take an
orange vitamin pill with this one) and one right after supper and before I go upstairs for my
shower.
I will pay my mom for the underwear she found at Costco on my rent cheque at the end of next
month. I still can’t see Carol not liking the idea of me living with her if I don’t drink, if I
don’t sneak out to parties, and if I pay my rent on time.
My dad brought me home another “GOLDRUSH” and another “BLACKJACK” yesterday that he got with
my winnings from the day before. I won $2 on both of those scratches, so my winnings for
yesterday came to $4.
I ended up having those leftover deviled eggs for supper last night with bacon and leftover
carrot salad from a few nights before. My mom gave me the leftover carrot salad in a separate
little container, same reason why I like my cranberries in a separate little
dish when I have them with turkey. She will make the
bacon and cabbage rice for my supper tonight.
Onion Ring Taste-Test: First Results
Those were good onion rings, they tasted a lot like the onion rings my mom sometimes buys at
the “M&M Meat Shop” and then cooks for my supper. Another pro besides this would be that the box
my size small DQ onion rings came in wasn’t any smaller than the box my medium
fries came in, but another con besides my stomach being upset (see below) would be that
I had to wait 15 minutes for them to bring me my food while you got your Sundae right away. I
thought that DQ was suppose to be just my kind of place at this time of year because not too
many people like to have ice cream in the winter and I don’t like it when there’s a lot of
people around. How could they not be of good service to me? And that box had more onion rings in
it than I had expected to be in a size small, you said yesterday that you thought “I got a good
deal for a size small.” Dairy Queen was just the first stop in our onion ring taste-test, we
still have onion rings to try at A&W, White Spot, Ricky's, and any other place we can think of
that has onion rings. I don’t know if Boston Pizza or the “Knight & Day” would have onion rings,
but I already know that “The Pantry” doesn’t have them.
Now I said above that my stomach had been upset. I had three big messy poops yesterday, each
at separate times and I spent a long time on the toilet for all three of them; one right after
lunch and just before you came, one right after supper and before going in for my shower, and
one late last night just as I was going to bed. Lots of days I have a big “dump” (try to find an
appropriate word to use here) right after lunch and I thought I would be okay, my stomach felt
okay after that until a couple hours after you left when I had the second big dump right after
supper. This second time, there were pieces that were a bit harder than a lot of others that
came out in this dump...but not too hard, still pretty soft but just a tiny little bit harder
than usual. I wish Carol was here with me after having those three big dumps. I said to my mom
after having all of them “this makes me feel more like wanting to see Carol again.” Still, this
wasn’t all...A couple hours after I had the third
big dump, I had a what I call a “messy toot” around 1:30AM. I didn’t fall asleep for the first
time until just after that, I slept off and on since then and must have got about five or six
hours of sleep in total for last night. That’s what I had to do when I had to run upstairs just
before we left for Dairy Queen yesterday afternoon, I had to run up and change my underwear
because I didn’t notice until I went to the bathroom just before then that I had made a mess in
them when I had the first dump just before you came. I said to my mom after having all three
dumps that I thought DQ was one of the fast food places that’s suppose to be better for our
stomachs than some of the other ones. My mom then said that DQ does still put quite a lot of
grease in their fries, onion rings, chicken strips, etc, so I then said to her that maybe next
time I have onion rings with fries for a snack at DQ maybe I should try the small fries. I
wonder if the box the small fries comes in would be any smaller than the box that the small
onion rings comes in:
...the box my size small DQ onion rings came in wasn’t any smaller than the box my
medium fries came in...
My mom then said that maybe next time I should just get one or the other, either just the
small onion rings or just the medium fries. I then reminded her these two things:
1. At some of the places I listed above that we might try onion rings at in the future, I said
before that I don’t know how big their individual orders of onion rings would be and depending
on that would be whether or not I order fries with
them. Again, they did pack quite a few more onion rings than I had originally expected into that
little box at DQ yesterday, but I’m not sure if those would have been enough for a snack for me
or not. If my mom were there (or if she saw all those onion rings in that little box), she would
have known and would have been able to tell me whether or not she thought those would have been
enough for one snack for me. She’s seen a lot of my snacks and would know how big my snacks
normally are.
2. Also, I don’t think those onion rings would have any more grease in them than the chicken
strips in those DQ chicken strip baskets that I talked about in one of the last few E-mails I
sent you. Therefore what I had yesterday shouldn’t be any different than if I were to have one
of my DQ chicken strip baskets for lunch one day. Also keep in mind that on the days when you
buy a cheese burger with your Caramel Sundae, I don’t know if that combination would be any
better for ourselves than what I had yesterday. All I had for lunch yesterday was a bowl of my
cottage cheese and fruit and then I had a couple “Peek Freans” digestive cookies for dessert,
that wasn’t much in my opinion. Other than the onion rings and fries, I don’t know what really
could have effected my stomach that badly:
I told you a few times in the past that I try to have no more than two things per day that have
caffeine in them, the only things I had yesterday that had caffeine in it would have been these
“Neilson GOLDEN BUDS” (regular milk chocolate ones) that I had for my snack last night. I
didn’t have anything with caffeine it the day before, so that’s almost 48 hours with no caffeine
until having those GOLDEN BUDS. Here are all the meals and snacks I had on Sunday (the
day I was caffeine-free) just two days ago:
Lunch: a bagel and cream cheese, two Christmas-holiday shape sugar cookies with red and
green sprinkles for dessert
(the same cookies that we still have leftover from that day after we had our pizza for supper
with Mac and Kris)
Afternoon snack: I told you that my mom cut me up an apple and to drink with that I
finished off that Save-On brand of cranberry juice.
Supper: My mom made me a salad with lunch meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red peppers,
cucumbers, and carrot sticks and then I had a
Yoplait Minigo cup for dessert.
Evening snack: Cashews with milk to drink.
In addition to all the food I had Sunday, I also told you above what I had for supper last
night. So after having an apple, cranberry juice, one of my mom’s homemade salads, and carrot
salad for supper last night, does it make you wonder where could I have gone wrong.
This E-mail is getting pretty long now, I’m sure it would have been much shorter if I didn’t
have all those problems with my stomach yesterday and didn’t have to talk about them. Expect
another message from me tomorrow, I’ll end this one with a few stories my mom told me about
after she saw them on the news yesterday:
• The first fatality during Canada Line construction has finally occurred, a
22-year-old man is dead after the crane he was operating over the North Arm of the
Fraser River (on the Vancouver side of the North Arm) tipped over pinning him underneath. He
was then trapped in the cab and crushed. Another person who is younger than me:
> ...police had arrested a 24 year-old tow-truck driver from Surrey named Avtar Singh
Dhaliwal and charged him with failure to
> stop at the scene of an accident involving the death of 77 year-old Douglas Hull...
Anyway, here is the link to the story published today in the Vancouver Sun, you can read
here
more details. Also, I told you that the Canada Line was unnecessary and didn’t need to be built
in time for 2010. I told you before that they are building this line because they expect people
who are coming in just for two weeks of winter Olympics to take skytrain into downtown
Vancouver from the airport while my dad thinks that most of them will probably take taxis. Think
about all the money that they are spending in advance just for a short “two week” event,
including the huge amount they are spending on the opening ceremony alone. This money should be
going towards things like building more hospitals, helping the homeless, etc.
• My mom saw on the weather on yesterday’s news that there’s a chance we might get snow on
Friday. Speaking about which, the ground was frozen outside at my place this afternoon. Not
snowing though, just frozen. My mom said to me that “the temperature right now is hovering
around 0” after I asked her. I guess it can only snow if it rains when it’s below zero, but not
when it doesn’t rain while below 0. They also said on yesterday’s weather that it’s suppose to
start clouding up on Thursday (the day before we might get snow), I guess I won’t know
until it gets closer whether or not it will be good weather to go for a walk when I see you that
afternoon. We could do the McDonald's milkshake either that afternoon or when I see you next
Monday (the 28th) depending which day we go Valentines shopping whichever one of those dates
I have most of my Christmas stuff eaten up by. My
dad plans to take Thursday afternoon off work (this will be the third Thursday in a row
he done so), meet my mom somewhere for a late lunch, and then go out to finally find my dad a
new pair of eyeglasses after having his eyes tested a few months back.
In addition to the two above news stories, there was breaking news near the end of today’s
Noon News just before Adopt-A-Pet. There was a shooting right at the intersection of 152nd
Street and 104th Avenue in Surrey, a male was shot dead. They’re wondering if this one has
anything to do with that shooting you told me about that occurred on Seymour street in downtown
Vancouver where the guy and his friend were both shot dead while the guy’s fiancée (not
his wife, his girlfriend/fiancée) survived and didn’t get shot at. The time I referred to her as
his “wife” after you told me the story and then you corrected me and told me that she was his
fiancée, that was only the first time I got it wrong. I got it wrong twice yesterday. The second
time was after you left yesterday when I had asked my mom if she had seen this story on the
news, I made the same mistake again and this time she corrected me. I remember you saying
yesterday that it’s not good to be involved with gangs because it puts you at risk of being shot
at, it puts you at risk of being killed, or you could end up in jail, so I’m glad that I don’t
have any ties to gangs and never plan to. And speaking about which, I didn’t watch Adopt-A-Pet
today. There were no cats or dogs on today anyway, my mom told me that all they had on were just
two chickens.
