John,
Regarding our next two visits
I have decided on McDonald's for lunch next Tuesday, I’ve never gone there with you before. I
can take you to the one at 32nd Avenue and King George, I don’t like the other one in South
Surrey (the one on 152nd Street) because:
-it has more windows while the one on 32nd at King George has a corner with a few dark tables
and a fireplace. Whenever I went to this location with Carol, we would usually sit in this
section. I could show you which table I would usually si
t at with her.
-the one on 32nd Avenue is more away from the downtown area and kids are more likely to hang
out around the one on 152nd.
I will get what I usually get when I go to McDonald's; ten piece Chicken McNuggets with
honey sauce (not Honey Mustard, just honey), medium fries, medium Sprite. You can
choose between either just honey or Honey Mustard sauce for McDonald's Chicken McNuggets.
Whenever I use to go to McDonald's with Carol we would always get five things of honey sauce,
so you can make sure I ask for five things when I tell them what I want because normally they
just give two. And they don’t give us KETCHUP at the counter like they do at the A&W you and I
went to in Semiahmoo Mall, at McDonald's once they give us our food at the counter after we
order it we then turn around and go behind us to the condiments counter where we can pour the
KETCHUP and then we can take our food over to our table.
My mom’s dentist appointment is at 11AM next Tuesday. You can come at 10AM and then we can
leave around 11:30 to go for lunch.
Now regarding our visit on Thursday, I was thinking that maybe we could drive to the Dairy
Queen for our snack. I will get a milkshake, my usual medium chocolate. I think this will be my
first time out of the house in almost three weeks, the last time I went out must have been that
night I went out with my dad for supper to Moxies in Langley. Hopefully that snow we got today
will be gone by then. If the road is closed in front of the elementary school that day, I can
give you directions to Dairy Queen via the detour route. My mom is going to make me fish and
chips for supper after you leave on Thursday, “Mrs. Friday’s” battered halibut from Costco and
“straight cut” fries. My mom buys many different brands of the “straight cut” fries instead of
just one brand everytime, she’s bought them from both Save-On and Safeway in the past.
Yesterday
My mom got up to Newton in plenty of time for her doctor’s appointment yesterday afternoon,
so she first stopped at the new Shoppers Drug Mart location on King George where Save-On-Foods
and Tim Hortons are. She got me a bag of “Dare juicy jubes” from there. Remember yesterday I
told you there were only 13 coloured jubes left in the bag for my snack and the rest were all
the black ones that I don’t like and then you said “gotta get some more.” Well, she found some
more...at Shoppers. My mom tells me that this Shoppers location is bigger than our Shoppers
in South Surrey (probably about the same size as the one I told you about in the other
E-mail that’s now in its new location at Central City Mall) and also has more food than our
Shoppers. I also told you in that same previous E-mail about that the Shoppers location in
Central City had lots of cookies and other good stuff, we bought the two bags of Christmas
Eggies from there. After Shoppers yesterday, my mom then went to her appointment. There was no
one else waiting and she got in to see the doctor right away. Her blood pressure’s still the
same as at was last time she went and she has to go back there again in three months from now.
Next, my mom drove back to South Surrey and picked up a few things at the London Drugs in
Peninsula Village (the same mall where the Safeway you and I went to is) including milk
because my dad forgot to get it the day before. After London Drugs, she walked over to the other
end of the mall and went into Safeway to get a ham for supper and two salads from the deli
section, a potato and a cole slaw. So I had ham and pineapple with potato salad and cole slaw
for supper last night. The potato salad I had last night would be the “classic” one from the
Safeway deli section, the one without the eggs. And the cole slaw I had last night would be the
one from the Safeway deli section that has more mayonnaise, I prefer that one over the one that
has more oil and vinegar.
That was my dad that phoned just before 4PM yesterday afternoon, he didn’t leave a message
probably because he forgot that you were coming yesterday afternoon even though he heard my mom
and me talking about you coming lots of times the days before. See again he forgets everything,
it all goes in through one ear and then comes out the other.
Our Cats
Yesterday after you left, Izzy was sitting in my mom’s recliner (the cloth one) in the
family room with her paws over the arm. When Chloe walked by the chair, Izzy swatted at Chloe.
It seems like it’s getting to where no one can trust Izzy when walking by her, she’ll swat at
your leg or your foot every time you walk by her. This is just like the one time my grandma was
sitting on our couch moving her foot back and fourth and all of a sudden Izzy attacks it.
Today, Chloe was sitting on the cat post in our family room. All of a sudden, Izzy jumps up
and sits on the post beside Chloe. This is the first time ever I saw our two cats together on
that small post at the same time, but not long after that Chloe pushes Izzy off the post. It was
the other way around this time, usually Izzy pushes
Chloe off that post.
Scratch-and-win tickets, Lotteries, Gambling, & Carol
Yesterday on my dad’s lunch break, he walked over to the Shoppers Drug Mart location that’s
near where he works and cashed in the $3 I had won. He got me three more scratch-and-win
tickets; one “BLACKJACK,” one “GOLDRUSH,” and one “Holiday Fun.” I didn’t win on any of those.
My mom won $12 on her “Flip-Flop Bingo” scratch the day before yesterday (Sunday the
6th). Why couldn’t I have been the won to win that? Just 99,999 more of those and I’d have my
$1,200,000 .
That $30 million on last Wednesday’s 649 would have been more than enough that my parents
could move away to somewhere else that maybe they had always wanted to live and I had never
wanted to live so that Carol and me could live in the same house I live in now and the young
aboriginal (he is aboriginal) guy, Pete, who lives with her can keep her current
apartment to himself. Regarding yard work, gardening, lawn care, etc; Carol know lots of kids
and I’m sure she’d probably know some young guy who would like to make a couple extra bucks if I
pay him that amount to cut the lawn once every week during the summer. I’d hope to maybe
eventually downgrade to a smaller place though, this house could go up some more in value by
then. If worse came to worse, I would settle for Carol’s couch just as long as she could have
enough money to be able to retire early. She has a job as a teacher’s assistant and has to go to
school five full days per week, plus with her spending at least a good hour (or maybe
even longer than that) per week grocery shopping for both herself and Pete she doesn’t get much
time to have to herself every week. She was very run down and tired the last few visits she had
with me before she stopped working wit me. Her older daughter’s wedding was only a week before
she stopped working with me and she had to abruptly move from the townhouse to the small
apartment only a few months before that. She was hoping at first that she could wait and move
after she does retire and has a lot more time, but she found out later that she couldn’t afford
to keep the townhouse any longer so she had no choice but to move during an already stressful
time in her life.
Think about it. If Carol could have a choice between her busy/stressful school job and
looking after me, which one might she choose? Think she would go for it if there was some way
she could get paid more to put up with looking after me than the amount she makes from the
school job? At least compared to Pete (and also Carol’s daughters); I don’t drink, I
don’t do drugs, I don’t smoke, I don’t sneak out to parties, and I always pay my rent on time
not like Pete who almost never pays his rent on time and gets himself into a huge debt he would
owe to Carol. I’m sure that looking after me would be a less stressful life for Carol than the
school job. If I could live with her, I’d look forward to sitting up with her every night
(or almost every night), eating junk food, and watching TV with her.
If I can’t win the lottery, maybe I could start going to casinos and gambling. I’d try not to
come out with any less than the amount I go in with. Or maybe I could bet on teams. I could
start by betting as little as $5 and then if I win the bet and win $10 , I could bet $5 again
and then if I win again this time try betting $10 the next time. If I manage to win so many
times in a row, I could keep doubling until I get up into the bigger numbers then maybe I can
start betting quarters instead of halves like maybe $125,000 out of
$500,000 for example instead of $250,000 . My mom
was watching Jeopardy last night. When they got to the Daily Double, the guy bet $7,000 and won
it. A few minutes after that, they came to the other Daily Double. The same guy bet $7,000 again
and won again. He must have been feeling pretty good after all that.
Or if you and your band, Bub Zulu, ever get back together, I guess you wouldn’t be allowed to
have a benefit concert for us. My mom says that those are only suppose to be for charities. This
is how desperate I am to live with Carol.
Carol’s Appartment
Carol has a two-bedroom apartment and it also only has two bathrooms. The bigger
bedroom (the master bedroom) is Carol’s bedroom and it has its own ensuite. The other
bathroom is across the hall from the smaller bedroom which is Pete’s room. Carol gets her own
bathroom, but Pete’s bathroom can’t be accessed directly from his bedroom. You have to go across
the hall to go between Pete’s bedroom and his bathroom. I have never seen Carol’s apartment, but
she has told me that there’s not much else other than the two bedrooms and the two bathrooms.
It’s a very small apartment.
Pete has nowhere else to go and has no choice but to stay with Carol right now. I’m sure he’d
like to live on his own if he could afford to. Carol did tell me in the past that after Pete
moves out if he can afford to sometime in the future, she’d turn his room into her sewing
room (or maybe a sewing/storage room combination).
Our Vacations
My mom told you yesterday that she and my dad once stayed a night in the hotel at the River
Rock. That was two summers ago (in the summer of 2006), Carol came to my house and stayed
the night with me while they were gone. That was the first time Carol stayed with me while my
parents went away over night.
The last time I had ever been on a vacation was June of 2004. That was the
time when I went with my parents to a place in Washington state called
Ocean Shores and stayed in a hotel called the “Shilo Inn.” It had a nice indoor pool that I
really liked and it also had a huge fish aquarium on the wall of the lobby, that aquarium must
have been 3 thousand gallons. It was a really nice hotel right on the beach and I know I really
would have liked it there, but too bad I wasn’t feeling well that day and couldn’t enjoy too
much. That’s why I stopped taking vacations and haven’t had the confidence to take another one
since, because it was the second vacation in a row I
on which got sick. This is another thing that Carol
and me would have in common, she doesn’t like to travel too much herself. She doesn’t like to
drive very far and will not drive across the Fraser River or anywhere past Langley going in the
other direction.
The Sand Castle is the name of the restaurant in Ocean Shores that had the fish and chips I
know I would have liked but wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want to eat too much of that then. I
also told you about that Chinese buffet near Fort Casey that I went to one time many years ago
when I stayed there, one of the best Chinese buffets I had ever been to. I originally told you
that I wanted to go with my parents and my friend, Kris, to the China Kitchen in Langley for my
mom’s birthday, but I no longer want to do that after what happened. If I could live with Carol
before her birthday which occurs two months after that, I would treat her to the China kitchen
with my own money for her birthday dinner. My mom’s birthday is March 1st, Carol’s birthday is
May 1st, and my grandma’s (my dad’s mom’s) birthday is July 1st, Canada Day. For the last
few years, I didn’t have to pay for my parent’s birthday dinners but since it may not sound
right that Carol should have to pay for her own birthday dinners (and maybe also her
birthday cakes) I should pay for them with my benefits unless we win the lottery or whatever.
I would tell you about my other vacations I had went on, but this is getting to be a pretty
long E-mail and I think you’ll have enough to read for a bedtime story for tonight so maybe I
could save that for another E-mail. At the end of this message, I should reply to the one you
sent me. My mom thought that the one you sent me today would b
e a good one for me to show to my dad, but I’m still avoiding him right
now. I think in my opinion that would be an interesting message to show to Carol.
Your previous message’s font
I looked at The E-mail you sent me two days ago on Sunday and that message was size 24
font in “Times New Roman,” but for some reason that message showed up differently on my screen.
I’ve attached a screenshot to this message of the way that message showed.
The News
Adopt-A-Pet was on the noon news today for the first time in a few weeks, I didn’t watch it
though. I haven’t seen the news since the day after Boxing Day (Thursday Dec.27,2007)
and I’m giving up watching the news until I can live with Carol. There were no cats on today’s
Adopt-A-Pet anyway, my mom told me that the only animal they had on today was one dog and that’s
it; a black lab. If you miss me being your news caster, I could send you all the news from
December the 27th in another E-mail. If I can live with Carol someday, I’m sure I could download
Podcasts off the Global
website of all the news I missed. If I could have my way, I’d tape
all the Adopt-A-Pet segments every week onto a VHS tape using a VCR and then put them all onto
one DVD. I would love to put together a binder of all the newspaper stores that caught my
interest within the last four months since Carol stopped working with me and then I’d hope to
eventually show them all to her.
See you Thurs at 1PM.
-Neil

So
the world’s biggest shopping mall is not the West Edmonton Mall. That’s in
China.

That stadium does not look like the world’s costliest, it looks pretty normal to
me.

Wow, I wonder if that one’s got an indoor pool. I guess I shouldn’t be surprise
