One o’clock at your place...my mom and dad can drop me off, and again we’ll take the Pontiac after dropping Bubbles off.

I haven’t looked at Photobucket yet simply because I can only do so much. So many things have been going on in my life just lately and I had a phone call two nights ago on Thursday evening from my friend, Mac. I will take this message to detail about what Mac said and also tell you about my dad’s fishing trip yesterday at Alouette Lake. And please don’t suggest that you and I look at the Photobucket tomorrow afternoon when we’re back at my place, I’ll do it with my mom and dad when I get time and then I’ll E-mail you what I think about it. I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures from Dianne’s birthday, the ones of me holding Bubbles, as well as the surprise pics and video.

Points about Mac’s phone call:

• Mac told me that his grandma, his mom’s mom, passed away on April 18th which is now two months ago. And that was also just eight days after the last time I talked to Mac on April 10th when I called him to tell about Kris getting hurt on the day before.

• Mac also told me that he wrecked his cell phone just last week when the kayak that he was in tipped over. He was away for three nights on a Young Adults Retreat near Princeton when it happened.

• He also told me that he knows about the transit route 351 will terminate in North Richmond and no longer continue downtown once the Canada Line opens this September. Now, remember I told you in the E-mail I sent you on Tuesday Jan.15,2008 that I’m not the only person who’s against this and that there are also many other people who take that route and other bus routes into Vancouver from the suburbs to go to St. Paul’s Hospital to have day surgery including Mac himself. And other people go there for cancer treatments. As far as I understand the Canada Line will travel through downtown Vancouver to Waterfront station via a different route that doesn’t include the St. Paul’s Hospital so this would make it hard for those people to get there. Either they would probably have to take a long walk to St. Paul’s from the nearest Canada Line station or do a bunch of bus transfers between St. Paul’s and the nearest station. I also told you before about that lady who my mom read to me about was in the paper at one time and who takes the 351 bus route to and from work everyday because it stops right in front of and across the street from where she works in Vancouver. She says that she will start driving her car to and from work everyday as soon as the line opens because the Canada Line also won’t be going anywhere near the place she works at. Well, after I told my mom that Mac had mentioned this when I talked to him just two days ago she then told me that she’s still seeing many other people writing into the local paper complaining about the Vancouver portion of the 351 bus route getting discontinued.

• Mac told me that they’re coming out with “Windows 7.” They’re giving it this name because it will be the seventh installment in the “Microsoft Windows” family. Windows 3.1 was the first installment, followed by “Windows 95,” then “Windows 98,” then 2000, then XP, then “Windows Vista,” and now “Windows 7.” And Mac also told me that he didn’t really notice a huge difference between “Windows 98” and “Windows 2000” because 2000 is basically just an updated Windows 98, but the new “Windows 7” will be a huge upgrade from Vista just like “Windows 95” was a big upgrade from “Windows 3.1” and more features were added.

• And my mom said to me that I should’ve asked Mac if his sister, Lizzy, is still with that creepy boyfriend who Mac doesn’t like.

Now, my dad’s gone both ways over the new Golden Ears Bridge. He was impressed about how quick it was when he went across that way, he left the house at ten to Six yesterday morning and then he was already in Maple Ridge just a half hour later. From South Surrey, if you head North on 176th through Cloverdale there’s a new turnoff just before 96th Avenue. Exit East off of 176th at the new interchange and you’ll go over the new bridge, but my dad also said that he was almost the only vehicle on the bridge going over there in the morning and then traffic was also scarce when he was driving back home later because it was the middle of the day and there weren’t many other vehicles going across the new bridge at that time.

When my dad and Robert were in the boat once they met at Alouette Lake, they went up to the other end of the lake first and fished there for about an hour but they weren’t catching anything so my dad decided to turn around and head back down to the end they started at. Once they had turned around, it started to rain and then my dad called out to Robert “bear” because my dad saw a black bear off to the side once they started to head back down the lake. And later when they caught the six fish (once they were back at the end of the lake they started at) and because all six of the fish that they caught are Kokanee, Robert came up with a good saying that “they caught a six pack of Kokanee.”

My dad and Robert are now thinking that they might stay at Billy Lake which is not far from Chataway. They took their boat and fished at Billy Lake the one time before when I told you that my dad stayed at Chataway with Robert, but they were in cabins when they stayed at Chataway...Billy Lake is not a designated campground but there is a small forestry campsite. Robert will bring his truck and trailer so that if the empty space beside the lake isn’t already taken by someone else then they’ll camp there.

And do you know that Billy Joel is divorcing his third wife? My mom called me into the family room last Thursday evening (on June 18th) when she was watching “Showbiz Tonight” on channel 37 (HLN) and she saw the story come on.

Now my mom’s the one who has been having lousy sleeps all of this last week:

• Tuesday night/Wednesday morning: She told me that she laid awake until 4:30 AM.
• Wednesday night/Thursday morning: She managed to fall asleep right away, but then she was awake for several hours.
• And then last night she only got two hours of sleep.

See you tomorrow.

-Neil

P.S. Today is my uncle Robert’s birthday and also my auntie Ann and uncle Les's wedding anniversary.
