John,

My dad’s cousin, Jim McRae, passed away yesterday morning. He’s the one who I told you had liver cancer. They were suppose to move him yesterday from Surrey Memorial Hospital to the palliative care unit in Vancouver but he passed away before they were ready to move him My grandpa phoned yesterday and told us after he heard the news from my dad’s other cousin, Pat. And then Pat’s husband, Frank, phoned my grandpa a while after that to tell him that his (Frank’s) mom passed away. A while after that, my grandpa’s brother (my dad’s uncle Bob) phoned him to let him know that his hip replacement surgery went well on the day before (on Monday the 23rd). Bob is the same one who my dad saw in Penticton last summer, remember I showed you videos that my dad took of his train set.

Also, remember my dad told you that I stopped receiving my benefits since I got my inheritance from my grandma who passed away almost two years ago. This was a couple weeks ago when you were here and we were talking about the RDSP (Registered Disability Savings Plan). And you know that I’m not allowed to have more than $3,000 in my Royal Bank account or otherwise I’ll be cut off disability, but my inheritance was $5,000 and I won’t start receiving my monthly income again until after the money is out of my account. When we went into the Bank of Montreal a few months ago to set up my RDSP, we decided to have them take $4,000 of my inheritance to put into my account with BMO. My dad phoned their head office this morning in Eastern Canada to see why the money hasn’t been taken out of my Royal Bank account yet and they said that they couldn’t find my file so my dad went through my records this evening. He’ll take them with him to work tomorrow and fax them back East.

I hope that the weather will be okay and you will make it here tomorrow.

-Neil
