John,

My dad talked to Ray on the phone yesterday in the morning and he said that they found another worker for me to try. His name is Larry and he’s in his mid-40s. Ray was hoping that they could set something up so that Larry could come on Monday afternoon when you’re here. And Ray also said that he would like to sit in on our meeting in Port Coquitlam this Thursday, we don’t know if Larry will be there too. Now speaking about our meeting, my mom said that we’ll meet you over there and then you and I could stop at Dairy Queen for a milkshake on our way back to my place. Unless the DQ on 152nd Street near Highway 10 is now open, then it’ll probably be the same one in Fleetwood that we stopped at after our last meeting. My mom doesn’t think though that the new DQ is open yet. It’s just that I didn’t like the washrooms at the one in Fleetwood, remember last time when you and I were there you had to ask the girls behind the counter to let me in. The new DQ is being built on 152nd Street across from where I told you that we noticed a few weeks ago on the drive home from my dentist appointment that they’re building a new White Spot. And I guess that’s pretty close to you, you’ll soon have a new White Spot and a new DQ just down Highway 10 from where you are.

When we were talking last Thursday (just two days ago) and you said “Volkswagen bus” I assume that you were talking about the Volkswagen vans. I thought it would’ve been clear to you that I won’t ride in any Volkswagen. And is there a vehicle, John, that you hate the most and want to make it through your life without riding in? If so, what is it? Now here are all of the cars that can stay on your list:

Buick
Chevrolet
Chrysler
Dodge
Ford
GMC
Honda
Mazda
Mercury
Nissan
Saturn
Toyota

My mom saw the story on yesterday’s Noon News about some guy was walking around Bear Creek Park and he found a human skull. He found it near 92nd Avenue and King George where the Hydro power lines are and where homeless people camp out.

And on today’s Noon News my mom saw that there had been some excitement last night at Willowbrook Mall. One of the jewelry stores had been robbed. They had dropped some of the jewelry that they stole, but I guess that the reason why they didn’t stop to pick it up was because they were trying to get away. And the police said that they have to wait and get an inventory from the store to see how much was stolen.

Both of my parents saw the story last Wednesday (on Nov.19,2008) on the news about this 24/7 puppy cam at
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/shiba-inu-puppy-cam .
There is a link to this puppy cam on
this page at Global’s website, and my parents think that “Shiba” is some kind of Japanese dog breed.

My mom found the green spring hanging between the fridge and the kitchen cabinet an hour after you left two days ago (on Thursday). And then only about 30 seconds after that, she found the blue spring on the kitchen counter underneath the pot lid. And last night, my dad found the elastic around the cat’s whisker on the mantel in our family room. By the way, my mom wasn’t taking a candy out of the dish when she found the blue spring in there last Wednesday. She found it while she was dusting.

Stories about Izzy:

• Saturday Nov.15,2008: As soon as my dad took the new printer out of the box after we brought it home, Izzy was right in the box.

• Monday Nov.17,2008: When my dad got up early before leaving to go to work, he saw Izzy come out of the family room with a green spring in her mouth. He said that she was ready to play.

• Tuesday Nov.18,2008 - evening: Izzy was curled up on top of the old rocking chair cushions when they were on the floor in our family room.

• Wednesday Nov.19,2008 - evening: Izzy was curled up on my dad’s lap in his chair in the family room, she all of a sudden jumped off and then curled up inside the printer box on the floor.

• Thursday Nov.20,2008: After you left, Izzy got a pair of shoes out from underneath the coat rack in our downstairs hallway where we keep all of our slippers and shoes. My mom said that she must be getting restless because winter is approaching and she can’t go outside because of all the bad weather.

• Last night, Izzy managed to move the printer box. It was against the couch in the family room and Izzy moved it 3 inches away from there.

• Also last night, Izzy was curled up sleeping inside the big plastic bag that’s on the floor in our dining room. Also, when I was in the dining room a few days before I didn’t know that Izzy was in the room hiding inside the same plastic bag until I felt her swat at me.

• And I already told you when you were here two days ago about Izzy killed a bird last Tuesday (on the 18th of this month

Now speaking about my new printer, I haven’t told you about it yet. My dad finally set it up two days ago (on Thursday) after you left and it was a pretty tight fit in its compartment on our desk in the downstairs computer room, no room on either side of the printer and it just fit perfectly. Features of our new printer include:

-It’s a wireless printer that we can access either from the downstairs computer or the laptop, and we’re not sure if this printer will be compatible with our upstairs computer which uses “Windows 98 2nd Edition” seeing how this is a newer printer and Windows 98 is an older operating system. We might still have to use my dad’s Lexmark printer upstairs. Or if we do manage later on to get the new printer to work with Windows 98, then we could just put away my dad’s Lexmark and keep it for a spare.
-Two separate trays, one for ordinary 8.5 x 11 inch paper and one for 4 x 6 inch photo paper. And now you don’t have to monkey around trying to get the photo paper to fit because now there’s a permanent place for it.
-And a touchscreen. There’s a little door on the right side of the printer that opens up to all of the slots for memory sticks, there’s a slot for each different size of memory stick. Using the touchscreen, you can print directly from your camera chip without having to access the computer. My dad says that the touchscreen also has other features, but the printer came with a big manual and my dad hasn’t had time to read a lot of it. He’s only had time so far to read the setup information.

Also, our new printer is just a plain printer and not an All-in-One. And last night, I used the new printer myself for the first time when I made a shopping list for my mom.

And my dad said that the same recycling depot he takes our pop cans to also takes old printers so he’ll take my old Canon printer there next time he takes in the recycling. And we have four cartridges left for our old Canon printer that we haven’t used, so my dad also said that he’ll take them to work and see if anybody there wants them.

I don’t know if my dad told you the last time when you were here two days ago about the two female mollies that he got for me earlier that day when he stopped on his way home from work at the little pet store in Metrotown which is on the bottom floor just outside the Bay. That store had lots of mollies and I usually like to have a couple males and around four or six females, but the girl who works there told him about how expensive their mollies are and then when my dad went to pay the guy at the cash register told him that the two he was buying for me were only $7.88 each. So my dad said that if these two work out, we could go back to that store sometime and get some more. My dad put the two new females in my 38 gallon tank where I just had the one big male molly left, the little runty one died. And speaking about the fish, my dad and I were making up some frozen treats for my fish two days ago before you got here and we noticed some fly wings floating at the top of one of the glasses. My dad thinks that a fly must’ve been feeding on the brine shrimp and it somehow got into the packaging machine.

And you heard my dad say two days ago after he and my mom got home that he found me one of those scratch-and-win tickets that has the maze on it. That was a “Holiday Fun” scratch that my dad brought home for me two days ago and the maze is just one of three puzzles that’s on it. And I won $5 in the evening on the same day when I did that scratch, so with my winnings dad got me two $1 scratches and $3 cash. My total worth of winnings on scratches that dad bought for me is now up to $24.

You also heard my dad say that they got casino coupons in the mail coincidently after they were at the casino in Cloverdale while they were out on that day. Also in the mail that same day, we got a Thank You card from my uncle Gordon for my dad for attending his 60th birthday. There’s a picture on the front of Gordon in front of his house standing beside some birthday decorations, I could show this to you on Monday. Also on Monday if Larry isn’t coming on that day, my mom found some dog pictures for us to scan that were in a special section of the Vancouver Sun about Christmas shopping. And when my mom was showing me those pictures in the Sun, I saw a picture of Elmo on the next page.

And my dad had a phone call earlier this afternoon from Lorne while my mom was out shopping. He just wanted to know how I was doing so my dad told him that things are still the same. And then after my dad talked to Lorne, he went across the back alley and saw his two friends, the two dogs.

My mom said that you must have your hands full with that family. She also said that you’re probably wishing they’d move away to another area and bug someone else for a while. And I hope you will have time to write me before Monday.

-Neil
