John,

The nurse returned my mom’s call yesterday and they said for me to stop taking the one new medication.

I didn’t think that the sun would come out for my birthday, we thought that it was going to be like Monday. For presents, I got the two Garfield movies and a milk chocolate cat from the “Daniel Le Chocolat Belge” store in Willowbrook mall. I already have a burnt copy of the first Garfield movie, but hey now I legally own them both on DVD. I won’t watch them until after I watch “the Grinch” with my mom. Now here’s what I had previously said about watching movies with Carol:

Sunday Feb.24,2008:
> ...I didn’t end up doing as many things with Carol that I had originally expected to and I didn’t watch too
> many movies with her during the two and a half years I was with her. Since that altercation near the
> beginning of 2005, Carol and me didn’t do much. We mainly just sat around and visited until just a few
> weeks before the altercation last August when I had started to do a few more things with her like going
> for a walk in Crescent Park or going to Dairy Queen for our snack...

I did watch my Malcolm in the Middle and Mr. Bean DVDs with Carol, and maybe I could watch these with you if you want to watch TV with me one day. Speaking about TV, I don’t mind computer-animated films such as “Finding Nemo” or “Toy Story.” I just haven’t had any interest in watching ones such as “The Lion King” or Aladdin for the last ten years.

One bad thing that happened on my birthday, Izzy killed another bird. She also killed a bird yesterday, it seems that she kills a bird on each nice day that we’ve had lately. One day not too long ago while you were with me, my mom and dad were in the “Kitty Kingdom” store in Langley on Fraser Highway. My dad was telling one of the ladies who works there about Izzy killing birds and she said that another couple who was in their store had the same problem. They got a bell that they put on their cat’s collar, but the cat would sort of put its paw over the bell when it was stalking birds so that it could sneak up on them.

My dad read in the paper a few days ago that a small area of South Surrey also lost power last Sunday. We’re glad that it didn’t affect our Thanksgiving dinner.

I remember you were looking at The Province last time you were at my place on Monday and saw the story “what do B.C. people like doing with their Sundays.” You know that I myself liked my Sundays when I got to spend every one of them with Carol. And I wish I could share with Carol that you and I walked by the Port Coquitlam courthouse on the day when all of the media was there. Or better still, I wish that it was Carol who was walking by there with me that day.

My mom went in and saw our family doctor on the morning of my birthday and this time her blood pressure was good for a change. After that, she stopped at Costco on her way home and got the following for us to give out on Halloween night; Welch’s Fruit Snacks, Dare REAL FRUIT Gummies, and Lay’s Classic potato chips. And I don’t have any interest in going on the Bear Creek Park Ghost Train or in going with you to the Potters store on 72nd Avenue.

And I went out with my mom yesterday afternoon to the Ocean Park Safeway where we found a whole double-layer chocolate fudge cake which we picked up for dessert after dinner on Saturday. My mom also got two tubes of green icing when we were there so that she could write “Happy Birthday Neil” on the cake in green letters. Remember my dad brought home one of those half chocolate fudge cakes for dessert one time when we had Chinese food, well what we got is the exact same cake except this time we found the whole cake instead of ending up with just half of it. After Safeway, we drove up to the 711 convenience store at 152nd Street and 24th Avenue where I got a box of Glosette Raisins and an AERO bar. Not a mint AERO bar, just a regular milk chocolate one. I had the Glosette Raisins for my afternoon snack when we got home. We also got at 711 a bottle of 7UP and a bottle of iced tea. After 711, we drove down to the Deals Discount Store on Johnston Road where we got green forks and paper plates for Saturday.

You can come to my birthday dinner at 4PM on Saturday. We won’t have the news turned on during supper that day and I will eat at the kitchen table with everyone else. Mac and Kris don’t know that I haven’t been watching the news, they don’t know that I haven’t been eating at the kitchen table, they don’t know the truth about why Carol and I don’t see each other anymore, they don’t know that there was an altercation two days after last Christmas, and they don’t know that I haven’t watched any movies for a long time. They also don’t know about the meetings that we go to in Port Coquitlam or that I’m taking medication.

And this week’s featured house plan from Jenish.com is in the attached ZIP file. Notice that this plan includes a “BONUS ROOM” on top of the house.

Have a great birthday and I’ll see you on Saturday at 4PM.

-Neil
