NOTE: This following message was written on Saturday Apr.26,2008:

John,

My mom decided to go to the casino in Cloverdale for the first hour after she left the house two days ago (on Thursday), her amount kept going up and down though in the end she came out with $30 under the amount she went in with. I asked my mom BTW and she said that my dad didn’t do very good the night before at that same casino. My mom also said about how they opened a bottom floor in that casino somewhere around six months ago after that casino was only on one floor to start with. She said that the new second (bottom) floor is where all the table games are including Texas Hold'em, so now you know that there is now Texas Hold'em at that casino.

After the casino two days ago, my mom then drove back to South Surrey and looked around the Semiahmoo Mall at sandals for me. She said that so far this year it’s hard to find Velcro sandals in just plain black; without logos on them, writing, etc and she’s mostly been seeing brown ones. I remember we also had this same experience the last few years, it took us a while to find the pair of sandals that I have now and that have a split sole. My mom did say that she saw a pair of plain black Rockport brand sandals, but they had a bumpy design on the top of their soles. And she also saw a pair of Columbia brand that she said looked really nice except the only thing was they were brown. After she finished shoe shopping (er let’s make that “shoe browsing” seeing as how she didn’t find anything that I would like) and before she came home, she picked up a few things at the Price Smart store in Semiahmoo Mall. When she was in the Price Smart store, she saw a big rack of the Lofthouse brand moist sugar cookies that I like. There were orange (orange flavour) iced ones, lemon iced ones, strawberry iced ones, and white iced ones with red sprinkles, and they were all white cookies. The only chocolate cookies that I’ve come across so far made by the Lofthouse brand are those ones that I told you I got last year at Halloween, I wonder why Lofthouse makes a lot more white cookies than the amount of chocolate ones that they put out. Now my mom assumed that these cookies she saw two days ago are ones that are probably there year round and then I asked her if the South Point Save-On would have these too. She said that she “never saw them there” so if I decide for her to get me some of these cookies to try after I finish up all the cookies that I have at home right now, then it’ll have to be a time when she’s going out by herself after you heard at our first meeting with FVMH back in February of this year about why I haven’t wanted to go into that store (the Price Smart in Semiahmoo Mall) for a long time. Those strawberry iced ones sound good, and I think that the white iced ones with red sprinkles might also be worth a try sometime. Too bad they only put out the white iced ones that have green sprinkles at Saint Patrick's Day, I wrote to you a while back about how much I really liked those ones. I thought that those white iced ones with green sprinkles might also be a good thing for them to put out at Christmas knowing that green is a Christmas colour.

And my mom said to me that she’s glad she’s not the lady behind the ice cream counter at Purdys. My mom walked by the Purdys in Semiahmoo Mall as she was leaving the mall two days ago and when she walked by she saw that the lady behind the counter was selling ice cream to a bunch of kids.

My mom woke up yesterday morning (on Friday morning) feeling awful, so I didn’t get out for a walk with her yesterday afternoon. If we had made it out I planned to walk by the Macs convenience store and get an ice cream bar or something cold from there. My dad went out and picked up Safeway Chinese food for our supper yesterday after he came home from work, he also picked up when he was there half of a round double-layer chocolate cake. I told you for my mom’s birthday last year (in March of 2007) we got a whole double-layer Chocolate Truffle Cake, this half one that my dad got is some kind of a chocolate fudge. When my dad was waiting at Safeway in line to pay after he got our food, the cashier had to do a price check for one of the items that the lady who was in line in front of my dad was buying. Now when my dad was waiting in line while the clerk went off and did her price check, the same lady in front of him as well as the lady who was in line behind him were both eyeing up my chocolate cake. And then after having my Chinese food yesterday for supper and then a piece of the cake for dessert, I was up with a really upset stomach last night. I hope I’ll feel better by Monday and feel like going out for a snack then, and if we don’t and we instead end up staying at my place for our snack I could maybe have a pack of the Thinsations “Thin Crisps.”

Here are my points about stuff that I’d want Carol to see, cat stories, and also points about other stuff that happened this last week and that I want to write about:

• After you left two days ago, I told my mom that when you were with me earlier that same day you asked me if anything had been bugging me within the last little bit that I’d want to discuss about with you and then I asked my mom if she could think of anything just to be sure that there wasn’t something I didn’t think of. She said “yah” and thought of something right away, the fact that I’m worried if I have to move out. And then I reminded her that you already know about that one, and again she forgot that she read it in the message where I told you about this before I sent you the message. You thought it was a good idea that I decided to take a break from discussing and also from writing about heavy stuff for the next little bit seeing as how we don’t have any meetings coming up for a while.

Sunday Apr.20,2008:
> ...we shouldn’t discuss any heavy stuff tomorrow. One other thing I will comment on right now however is
> that “I’m worried about moving out” and I had a nice conversation with my mom last Wednesday evening
> after the meeting, I will send you a long in-depth message about the conversation I had with my mom once
> I have more time to think about things...

• I didn’t get to sleep until 3AM the night before you came (night after Wednesday the 23rd). I had one messy toot just before 2:30 and I had another one not long after that and before 3AM when I fell asleep. My mom said that she didn’t get to sleep until 3 that morning either. And then Logan started up his car at around ten to 8 that morning, it sat with its engine running for five minutes before he drove away. I didn’t fall asleep until a quarter after three the next night (Thursday night/Friday morning) plus I was up having even more messy toots until I did fall asleep that night. And yet again I didn’t fall asleep until 3AM last night after being up with an upset stomach, my mom didn’t fall asleep until 3AM last night either though it didn’t take her long to fall asleep the night before.

• Sunday Apr.20,2008: Izzy was laying down on the seat of the rocking chair in our living room not long before supper, the same thing while I was having supper in that room last Wednesday (the 23rd), and then remember she was in that spot yet again most of the time while you were here two days ago. The first time last Sunday was the first we’ve seen her there in a long time and for some reason we never saw our other cat, Chloe, in that spot.

• Izzy was in attack mode last Monday (the 21st). She attacked my mom just before you got here that same day, John, and then she was eyeing up you.

• Wednesday Apr.23,2008: My mom found a big twisty in Izzy’s water dish in the morning. She (Izzy) probably knocked it off the kitchen counter.

• You already know that two days ago on Thursday morning at my dad’s work, a guy named Daryl who works on my dad’s floor had chest pain and then he had a heart attack so they ended up having to call the ambulance to come and take him away to hospital. He’s a couple years younger than my dad and he’s very active, he gets lots of exercise, and he was suppose to have a soccer tournament coming up. Now what you don’t know yet was that my dad said when he phoned us at lunch yesterday (on Friday) that it looks like Daryl will be going home in a few days and my dad also said that he learned that Daryl has a family history of heart disease.

• My mom read in the Peace Arch local paper a couple days ago about a bunch of kids who had a big party last weekend at the running track that’s across 20th Avenue from Softball City (not too far from where I went to High School). They took the seats off the toilets in the men’s washroom and they made the toilets so that they wouldn’t work, they also smashed beer bottles all over the track. The track has since been cleaned up but the men’s washroom is still closed.

• My mom told me that they said at the end of the five o’clock news after you left two days ago that Jill Krop had her baby”...it’s a boy, and she named it Cole Sampson Krop. It was born the evening before last Thursday BTW, so his birthday would be the 23rd of April and not the 24th. And I wondered who’d be anchoring Jill’s newscast while she’s away on maternity leave, my mom said that she’s seen Robin Stickley doing it so far. My mom also didn’t tell me until just two days ago that Jill’s already been away for the last few months.

• My mom read in the newspaper a few days ago that they just opened a new Wal-Mart SuperCentre in Duncan over on the island and that the “first Wal-Mart ever” for South Surrey will also be a “SuperCentre one” meaning that besides just the department store, it will also include a grocery store, produce, and my mom thought maybe also some bakery stuff. She also read that this Wal-Mart location for South Surrey will open sometime this summer (summer 2008) and I hope that Wal-Mart’s grocery store isn’t gunna put Safeway Canada out of business, that Safeway in Peninsula Village got the best Chinese food. And even though that is the only location we know about so far that has that Chinese, you know that all of the Safeway locations have a lot of other good stuff that I like too. I also hope that Wal-Mart soon to open in South Surrey is gunna be more like the one in Langley and not like the one on 88th Avenue, I think the one in Langley has a better flooring layout if you know what I mean. And the sinks in the washrooms at the Wal-Mart on 88th are a funny shape and neither my mom or myself could figure out how those sinks work.

• I remember you were reading in the paper when you were at my place a couple days ago about the pine beetle. It got some of the trees within the last few years that are at my uncle’s mother’s cabin, but my dad said that there’s still a lot of trees there now. I asked you in the message that I sent you on Saturday Mar.22,2008 if you’re a good fisherman and if fishing’s one of your interests. If so, would you be interested in going with my dad if he decides to go up to that cabin again this summer? I also said in that same message that if you want me to I could put together a short video about the cabin and then send it to you.

• When my dad went to get the mail after he got home last Tuesday afternoon (Tuesday the 22bd), he stopped and talked to Gary across the street who was out power washing his driveway. He said that he now goes to chemotherapy and he has ten more weeks of it left as of that date (last Tuesday). He also said that there’s a 30 or 40 percent chance the cancer will come back, so he’s hoping that the chemo will help.

• Remember I told you that we have a Block Watch team in our neighbourhood and that my dad’s the Co-Captains. He’s the only Co-Captain and Reg is the Captain, he’s the one who lives in the house on the other side of Marvin and Marjoree’s and next to our mailbox. And my dad and Reg were thinking at one time about quitting their positions as Co-Captain and Captain because they said that they both did their turns and they think that it’s now time for somebody else to do it.

• I don’t remember seeing any episodes of Hollywood Squares in which Paul Lynde was the center square, I didn’t start watching Hollywood Squares until during the time when Whoopi Goldberg occupied the center square. And then after Whoopi left, a mix of celebrities filled in as the center square until Martin Mull became the permanent center square for the last season. If you go to this site and then click on “Main Stage” at the bottom of the page, would you be interested in taking the quiz “Who's Your Square” and/or the personality test to see which season of Hollywood Squares you belong in. At the bottom of this message, you can find all the answers I would give if I decide to take those surveys sometime. And one question that I thought of and isn’t on either survey, “who would you like to see in the center square?” Of course I would’ve liked to see “Kermit the Frog” in the center square. Who would you like to see in the center square, John? And I wonder why nobody ever picked Kermit to be their partner for the bonus round that they had back when Whoopi Goldberg was the center square, the “Big Money Round.”

BTW, I watched Whoopi Goldberg’s short-lived comedy television series “Whoopi“ a few years ago and which was cancelled after only one season. “Happy Family” (which I previously gave you the link to in the message I sent you on Sunday Mar.30,2008) was its Tuesday evening follow-up that year on NBC. And I also saw Whoopi in “Call Me Claus,” “Eddie,” “RAT RACE,” and “The Lion King” as the voice of Shenzi.

• You asked me if I like the board game “Scrabble,” my parents have the board game (remember, they have a Scrabble dictionary) but I haven’t played for a long time. I also remember you told me about the Scrabble game on Facebook, I have a Scrabble PC game made by Hasbro Interactive and will run on Windows 3.1 or greater. I’m not sure which version I have but I think it must be 1.0 (the one released in 1996) if mine will work on Windows 3.1, “too lazy to go and look at the CD right now.” And I have a “SORRY” PC game also by Hasbro Interactive but this one will only run on Windows 95 or greater.

• I remember when you were here with me two days ago you thought that it was neat I could press a button on my mouse to magnify (this feature is known as “universal zoom”). It’s a little USB mouse on which you can program the Wheel Button to perform any frequently used command of your choice, I currently have my Wheel Button set on “universal zoom.” We got this mouse because it was one of the very few tilt-wheel ones we could find and I find that having the horizontal scroll is useful when I zoom in (on the screen) to work on an image in Windows Paint. And the finish on this same mouse is now starting to ware, it therefore might soon be time for a new mouse for my downstairs desktop PC. I believe that USB ones are made more for laptops, the only non-USB mouses my dad could find that have a separate horizontal scroll wheel are sold all the way over in England.

• You asked me if I know if my cats like catnip. When I asked my mom, she said that those Sammy snake toys that they have got some catnip in them and that both our cats like to play with these toys. And when I told my mom that you said about how the catnip makes cats go kooky, she then responded by saying that it seems to affect some cats more than others.

• I already know that the thing on top the Scottish man’s hat looks like a ping pong ball. We might have to find another place for that man and Scottish dog if I soon get a DVD storage tower, I have thought for a long time about getting one and if I do get one I plan to put it in that corner behind the rocking chair where the lamp currently is. And I told you that those are my dad’s CDs you were looking at on the other storage towers that are in our downstairs computer room, all of my CDs are upstairs in my bedroom.

• My dad saw that 16th Avenue is dug up at 142nd Street, this is where you turn off 16th to go to my street. Just so you know that they now got that portion of 16th down to just one lane in each direction instead of two. I asked my dad if he knew what they were doing and he thinks that they’re putting in a new pipe and that this might be them continuing with the same work that they were doing earlier this year when they had 142nd Street dug up in front of the elementary school.

• And when I asked my mom she said that she also never heard of this Mexican celebration you told me about. I forget what its called, but you know the one that takes place over five days in May.

And now here are the excerpts that you either misread or misunderstood from the last few previous messages:

• The lady in my dad’s carpool is Janice. The guy “Wen,” short for “Wenpeng” not Wendy, is the man who lives just down the street from us and who I told you might soon buy a Toyota RAV4. Wenpeng from my dad’s carpool is a Chinese person BTW:

> After my dad saw Mac cross the street in front of him, he dropped off Janice who just lives around
> the corner from that intersection and then he drove back and picked up Mac who was waiting at a
> bus stop outside in the cold. I guess that was nice of my dad to give Mac a ride home instead of
> making him wait for a bus out in the cold. Once my dad picked Mac up, he then drove back to our
> street to drop off Wen in his carpool. Wen was the last person to be dropped off and Janice was the
> second to last, my dad then drove Mac home after he dropped off Wen.

My dad did not yet put that new switch in my wall that he got at Revy. I also said that my dad’s just gunna bring my current bathroom fan into Revy for now and have them order some replacement parts for it, we’ll only install a new fan if my current one still doesn’t work the way we want it to after we order the replacement parts:

> My dad walked up to Revy yesterday at lunch and got a new flick switch for the wall in my bathroom
> upstairs that allows the ceiling fan to come on automatically when the humidity gets so high. We’ve
> been looking for a long time for replacement parts for underneath that fan’s cover and thought
> that they don’t make parts for this type of bathroom fan anymore until the guy at RONA said to my dad
> yesterday that he can bring the fan into Revy and they’ll replace the parts for him. And if the fan still
> doesn’t work like we want it to after we do this, then more work will have to be done on my
> bathroom ceiling before a newer and quieter fan can be installed.

And it was a dial switch that my dad got for me, and my dad doesn’t think he knows how to put it in and says that he needs to talk to someone who knows a lot about electricity. Instead of bringing my current fan into Revy, he went earlier today to the little Revy down here at 32nd Avenue and King George where the Ricky's is and got me a new fan which came with a free cover. My dad put the new cover on after he installed the fan and I think that the fan in our downstairs bathroom and also the one in my parents’ master bathroom upstairs should both have covers that match the one in my bathroom. And at one point when my dad was installing the fan, he poked something the wrong way and the lights flickered. He says, “you gotta be careful when working with electricity.”

• And an excerpt from the message I sent you on Sunday Apr.20,2008, you thought I went out and bought some neon tetras. You might’ve already figured this out, but in the following exceprt where I wrote “each of our four barracks can have a maximum of four dividers” I meant that “each of barracks can have a maximum of three dividers and a maximum of four compartments (or fish),” and my dad thought that young male beta who’s in the barracks on my 32 gallon and in the compartment that’s right next to the one his father’s in looks to be the biggest of my babies so far and my dad also thinks that this one looks a lot like his father:

> We found a dead fish at the bottom of my 32 gallon two days ago (on Friday), it was one of my
> swords. I now have two male swords and three females left. My dad put one of the four beta
> barracks that we have on my ten gallon fish tank today, the one that has my adult platies, and
> then he put four of my big betas in it. Each of our four barracks can have a maximum of four
> dividers. He also put two dividers in the barracks on my 32 gallon that my adult male beta is in,
> the one who is the father of all these little guys. He gave the father half of the barracks and put two
> more bigger babies in the smaller compartments. Once he moved all these fish out of my other ten
> gallon and into the barracks, he then moved up about half a dozen baby betas from the five
> gallon to the tank above the five gallon and after today’s move there are now only six or
> seven babies left in the five gallon. My dad also said that some of those males in the barracks
> on the ten gallon already have bits of their tails and fins missing, I previously told you that male
> betas can become aggressive and that they tend to fight with each other.

And speaking about Wenpeng in my dad’s carpool, once I told my dad that you would rather buy a used car instead of a new one, my dad then told me that Wen plans to buy his new vehicle down in the States because it’s less expensive than it is to buy one up here. The only disadvantage about buying a vehicle in the States though is that you don’t get a warranty so if something happens to your car up here then you have to pay yourself to have your car fixed. While if something happens after you buy your car up here, you have a warranty and the company who sold you your car will pay the cost for you. My grandparents (my dad’s parents) haven’t bought a new vehicle for a long time and the last few they bought were used ones, that’s because they are both pensioners.

My mom told me that they’re predicting rain for Monday, so it will probably be a better day to have onion rings instead of ice cream if I feel like going out for our snack that day. And then when we come back to my place after A&W, maybe we could see if we can find that song on YouTube that I heard you sing two days ago while you were in my downstairs bathroom. You know, the one you told me The Count sings. And I don’t remember what the song’s called but I remember hearing you sing something like “English Country Garden.”

See you on Monday at 1PM.

-Neil

I’m not quite sure, but I think I would either “host a morning radio/TV program" or "write for major awards shows.”

> People think of you as...

How about I start with you. Do you think of me as wacky, extroverted, sweet, friendly, or carefree?

> Your favorite quote from the show is...

No comment, but if I had to answer I think I’d either say “YOU FOOL!" or "It's a frightening thing to be able to say I sat on top of Richard Simmons.” BTW, was it not Penn Jillette who said “YOU FOOL?” That would probably be the one I’d go with if it was him who said that.
