John,

That was a good thing yesterday getting out to Dairy Queen for the medium chocolate shake. I had my fish and chips for supper after you left. Whenever I have fish and chips for supper at home, I prefer my KETCHUP in a separate little dish. Same thing with the pineapple when I have ham and pineapple, or with the cranberries when I have turkey and cranberries. I said that when we go to McDonald's on Tuesday, we don’t have to worry if we run out of KETCHUP because we can go back to the condiments counter anytime and as many times as we need to get more. The KETCHUP doesn’t come in little packages at the condiments counter like the ones they gave us at the A&W you and I went to, you can take little cups from the condiments counter and then pour the KETCHUP into the cups. If we ever need to go back for more KETCHUP, we can get a clean cup each time we get more.

I’m looking forward to McDonald's on Tuesday. My mom thought that maybe she’d go browse around Guildford Mall after her dentist appointment in Fleetwood, so maybe we can do 10AM to 2:30PM on Tuesday. That’s a four and a half hour visit, our visits are normally three and a half hours but we need to make up the time. My parents were a bit late coming home on Boxing Day so that’s a little bit of time made up there and then that was our only visit that week. The next week, you were only with me for two hours (on Wednesday Jan.2,2008). So after an extra hour on Boxing Day and another extra hour this coming Tuesday, we should only have two three and a half hour visits left to make up and these hours will hopefully be made up somewhere along the way.

You can also come next Thursday (the 17th) at 1PM. Again, the McDonald's that I want to go to on Tuesday is just a bit farther away from my place than Peninsula Village because you have to cross the King George Highway to get to the McDonald's. As soon as you cross King George, you’ll want to go i nto the lane on the very right side of the road. To go into the McDonald's parking lot, it’s an immediate right-turn after you go through the light at King George. As usual, I will give you directions that day.

And because you missed where I said in the last E-mail about this McDonald's that we’re going to having a fireplace, here’s that portion of the E-mail again:

> it has more windows while the one on 32nd at King George has a corner with a few dark tables and a fireplace. Whenever I went
> to this location with Carol, we would usually sit in this section...

Acronyms, Emoticons, Your Crazy font land E-mail, & Hex Colour Values

I already knew what LOL stands for. That’s what the little emoticon (also known as “smilie”) that I used in my Christmas E-mail indicates where I talked about the Billy Joel LP record. This little guy means "LOL:"

LOL - Laugh Out Loud
BTW - By The Way
AKA - Also Known As
INC - Incorporated

I already knew what LOL stands for and what INC stands for. You can find a lot more of these Acronyms at these following websites:

Acronym Finder
Internet Acronyms Dictionary

And at the end of this message you can see me deciphering all your crazy fonts. I can tell you now that they are all done at size 24 and in bold.

And for precise hex (colour) matching, you can download a neat little program here called “Visual Color Picker.” What is your favorite colour? And if there is a certain shade of your favorite colour, try to get the hex value for it and then maybe you’ll send me an E-mail using that hex colour value or maybe I’ll even send you one of my E-mails someday using that value. The hex value for the shade of green that I used to use in the E-mails I sent you is “#339966,” the hex value for white is “#FFFFFF,” and the hex value for black is “#000000.”

Interesting Facts

Pretty amazing stuff about my mom’s, Carol’s, and my grandma’s birthdays “the three firsts.” And you know that your’s and my birthdays are only two days apart. Did you say that your mom’s birthday is August 6th? My grandpa’s (my dad’s dad) is August 7th.

Another interesting thing that I noticed in your previous E-mail... Even though I said that I would never stay at that hotel in Dubai, one neat thing that caught my interest about it was that it has a bridge that you drive across to get to it. I said that I plan to never travel anywhere outside the combined area of Canada and the United States (AKA North America), Dubai is somewhere over in Asia. And also, there was a story on the national news (Global National) a year or two ago that was all about Dubai.

Juice Bars & Peninsula Village

I told my mom about that juice bar you said you went to at Semiahmoo Mall before you came to my place last Monday (the 7th), would it be that one called “Euphoria Smoothies” that’s not right in the mall but across the parking lot from the Price Smart store?

I remember that juice bar in Peninsula Village that you said you went to with Scott two days ago and is just a few doors down from London Drugs. I never actually been in it before, I just remember it being a sandwich place before that closed out and then the juice bar opening in its place.

I think that Peninsula Village is just my kind of place (a Neil McRae Paradise) because it has the London Drugs, the Safeway that’s got my favorite Chinese food (also the best Chinese food around in my opinion) and the only Safeway location that you and I both know has that Chinese food, and the Baskin-Robbins and the Moxies also use to be there. There is also a Rogers Video store at the Peninsula Village, but I haven’t rented movies for a few yeas so the only two stores there that I would benefit from right now would be the London Drugs and the Safeway.

Hydrogen-powered Cars, Transit Buses, Traveling, More Carol Stuff, More About Chinese Food, & Safeway Apartment

Those hydrogen cars sound interesting. I always wanted to ride in one of those things, or I’d be even more interested to ride in a hydrogen-powered transit bus (that’s if I have the confidence to do so ever again). Did you know that there are also Natural Gas powered buses and Natural Gas cars? There are only a few Natural Gas powered cars out there right now and not currently many places to fuel them either. I never rode in a Natural Gas transit bus and always wanted to do so, the only problem with that is that the only place around here where you can currently find Natural Gas powered transit buses is Coquitlam because the Port Coquitlam garage is the only bus garage in the lower mainland that has Natural Gas fueling facilities. I haven’t gone anywhere in the following areas combined for a long time because I don’t get along with my aunt and uncle (my mom’s brother and his wife, the same people who sent us that “Australian Xmas Card”) who live in Port Coquitlam and I haven’t seen them for eight years; Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, and the Lougheed Mall area of Burnaby. Maybe someday in the future one of the other lower mainland garages will have the Natural Gas fueling facilities. I can’t see myself doing a bus trip anywhere anytime soon, especially after I told you yesterday about the way my stomach’s really been acting up the last few nights before.

Since the time when I got sick on that one hotel trip to Washington state in June of 2004, I didn’t just lose confidence in doing hotel trips or going on vacations in general. I also lost my confidence in doing bus trips. I only did one bus trip since that vacation in June 2004, I went for one with Carol in January 2005. We took the transit bus from White Rock Center (the bus exchange outside Semiahmoo Mall) up to the skytrain station in North Surrey and then we took the skytrain from there to Metrotown. We spent the day shopping at Metrotown and that was the only bus trip I had ever done with Carol.

Speaking about my stomach, both of Carol’s daughters also have bad stomachs and both of them have been to the naturopath. Carol herself has a few problems with her stomach too. So this would be another thing that Carol and me have in common besides the fact that “neither of us like to travel too much.” Here, I got another thought for you, John... Since my parents like to travel more, if I could live with Carol then this would give my parents a lot more time to do things by themselves including more traveling. They could go for longer durations and to farther away destinations. I know that my parents would probably like a lot more time to themselves than what they’re getting now.

I know that Carol would know how to look after me when I’m not feeling well. Around Valentines Day last year, Carol and me where suppose to have Chinese food from the Safeway in Peninsula Village for our supper and then we would have a really good chocolate Valentines cake that I really liked and had looked forward to for dessert while my parents would go out and have supper by themselves. I had been looking forward to that day, but I ended up being constipated and was worried that I might have to phone my parents to come home early before supper. If that had to have happened, I would have hoped that Carol could have come for that same supper a few days later when I hopefully would have been feeling better. Anyway, before we left to go get our Chinese food that day Carol suggested that I take an extra drink of water. I don’t normally have a drink at that time of day, Carol just thought that it might help me that one day because I was constipated. I had the extra drink of water and then we did end up having our supper that night, but I didn’t end up enjoying the cake as much as I could have (just like I didn’t get to enjoy that fish and chips in Ocean Shores, Washington state). I was also disappointed that we had to give half that cake away, so therefore I got to enjoy it even less and again I remember it being a really good chocolate cake. Other ways I know Carol knows how to look after me when I’m not feeling well; sometimes when I had a bad stomach while Carol was visiting me she would suggest putting that cat (the one you heat up in the microwave) over my stomach, she would also suggest putting the heating pad over my shoulder when I had a bad back and she also suggested seeing the chiropractor every three weeks to get my back realigned. I never took her advice to put the cat on my stomach when it wasn’t feeling well or to see the chiropractor, but at least she knows what to do. I also remember that one of the first things Carol said to me as soon as she came in the front door that one time around Valentines Day was “Neil, are you not feeling well?”

And I know that Carol is also good to her own daughters. She respects the fact that the daughters don’t like their food touching when it’s on the plate at supper, kind of like the same idea as me wanting my cranberries in a separate little dish when I have turkey.

Yet another thing that Carol and me would have in common is that I know we both like Chinese food while not everybody does including my grandpa (my dad’s dad) for example who I know doesn’t like Chinese food. I remember that either last year or the year before Carol was having a birthday dinner for her older daughter, Krista, a little boy named Derek was invited. Krista is the same daughter who got married last August by the way. Now Krista had originally wanted Chinese food for her birthday supper, but Derek is another one of those people who doesn’t like Chinese food and he wanted pizza. So it caught changed to pizza at the last minute only because Derek wanted pizza and Krista, the birthday girl, didn’t get her Chinese supper. What I’m saying is that if I was ever invited to one of their dinners, I know this is one thing that I could agree on with all of Carol’s family because l know that everybody there would have been okay with Chinese food.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if I could live on top of my Neil McRae Paradise? If I could have my own apartment on top of the Safeway in Peninsula Village , then whenever I want Chinese food all I would have to do would be to go downstairs and get it. But seriously, I know that the Safeway in Peninsula Village wouldn’t be able to accommodate me just like the Vancouver Aquarium wouldn’t be able to accommodate me because that Safeway store would have a lot of hungry people to feed who go in there and buy their supper after they get off work. And especially if they had a long busy day at work.

Another thought to keep in mind if I were to live with Carol... Think about if I was sick and wanted Chinese food. If I felt too sick to go out, who would stay with me while Carol went out and got it. I don’t make the rules in this area, but see, if I could have my own apartment on top of Safeway then all Carol would have to do is go downstairs.

You’re a real joker. I also wish that I could tell Carol what you said a few days ago about playing two games at the same time, first take my turn at "SORRY" and then take a turn at “Connect Four.” And then it would be your turn and then I take a turn at "SORRY" again, and so on.

Now we’ll see if this is a long enough bedtime story to last you four nights.

-Neil

P.S. Compare this to the screenshot I attached to the bottom of the last message I sent you, this is how your message should have showed up in “Microsoft Word” at size 24 font in “Times New Roman” while in “Print Layout” view with the Zoom set at 85%:

And now as promised I will decode the fonts used in your message:

Size 24 font in “Times New Roman” bolded.

Also size 24 font in “Times New Roman” bolded. Even though the two above shots are the exact same font, size, etc you see in the above screenshot how they showed on my screen.

Now here’s a different font, this is your Wingdings.

...And the rest is in “Verdana.”
