John,

I made it with my mom to Art Knapps after lunch today. On our way to Art Knapps just after we crossed over Highway 99, we could see flashing lights ahead of us and my mom thought that maybe she could see them in front of Art Knapps. This had me worried for a minute because I thought that maybe there was an incident whereas Art Knapps had to be closed down. It looked like it was just four police cars and one marked (ghost) car at that little house on King George between Art Knapps and Peace Arch Nursery, so it might have been something going on at that house. Three of the police cars were leaving the house just as we were passing the house on our way back, I don’t know what happened though and I don’t know if I’ll hear about this anywhere. We didn’t buy anything at Art Knapps, but it was neat to go there and look around. We didn’t even find any dog or cat stuff we liked there, all they had for dog and cat tree ornaments were ugly ones. Not the best place to look for dog and cat stuff, I think. In village accessories, they had a Krispy Kremes and a Dutchman’s Pancake House. The Dutchman’s Pancake House had a windmill wheel outside it, this and the Krispy Kremes weren’t Lemax. Lemax is the brand of all the buildings we have in our village now, this stuff at Art Knapps is a more expensive brand. I’m not sure, but this brand Art Knaps carries might be Department 56. The Krispy Kremes was 100 bucks, might be an expensive present I’ll have to ask for at Christmas one year. They even still had some Halloween stuff in their Christmas village section. They also had the model train going round. They had the other train open today at this time of the year that younger kids can ride.
After we left Art Knapps, we went to the smaller Safeway in Ocean Park to pick up a salad for my supper and two chocolate-iced donuts with red and green Christmas-coloured sprinkles. We got the donuts, but we didn’t get the salad. They had the chicken cobb, but they were sold out of the seafood one. I had the chicken cobb one last time so we then drove to the bigger Safeway (the one that you and I went to) and my mom found the seafood salad> (the one with shrimp and crab flakes) there. We got the two donuts, one long-john and one standard round one with hole in the middle, at the first Safeway we went to incase the other one didn’t have them. If we had found everything at the first Safeway, we would have stopped at the Macs corner store (the one that you and I walked to) to get my snack. Instead after we left the first Safeway and before we went to the second one, we stopped at the 711 convenience store at 152nd Street and 24th Avenue. Usually when I buy gummy candies from the bulk sections at the 711 convenience store, I buy twenty items from the 5 cent bins. This time I decided to try ten items from the 25 cent bins. I will have my salad for supper tonight and then I will have the sprinkled long john for dessert, I will save the other sprinkled donut for another day.

My dad talked to my grandparents last night and they said that they will keep boxing day open. I will let you know later whether to come at 1PM or to come earlier (before lunch) that day. If New Years Eve (Monday) isn’t good for you, you can come on the Sunday (Dec.30,2007) and then either on Wednesday Jan.2,2008 or Saturday the 5th.

Our cat, Izzy, had gotten up on our Christmas village table today and was in our village, cat in the village. Luckily, only a few small trees got knocked over and that was all the damage she did that we could see so far.

It looks like it was a good thing that my mom and me picked today to go out and do stuff after we weren’t sure last week whether to go out today or tomorrow because I saw the weather on the Noon News today and they are predicting a storm for tomorrow. I hope we don’t lose our power. And it looks like its a good thing too that we decided not to have you come tomorrow and for you to come Thursday instead. The kids aren’t out of school for the holidays yet and they should have still been in school at the time my mom and me went out, but Art Knapps was busy and the grocery store parking lot was almost full. Today might have been the best day to have got this stuff done, it could be even more crowded if we wait til the weekend or anytime closer to Christmas. Hopefully the last time I’ll have to go out before Christmas day and after today will be on Friday when I go out for supper with my parents to Moxies in Langley and then look in a few fish stores for whichever aquarium fish I didn’t find when I went out last week.

My fish that died yesterday wasn’t a catfish, it was one of my glow light tetras. Not one of the five new ones I bought last week, one of my four older glow light tetras. I won’t worry about replacing this one right away because I have eight left now and I usually like to have at least five at a time. Eight should be lots. Now I have another dying fish today, in my other big tank where I have two white albino corey catfish. One of those two catfish is now dying, I’ll also have to see about replacing him if I make it out on Friday.

Also today on the Noon News, someone got killed in Langley near the casino that my parents sometimes go to. This is the story about the guy who got run over by a car when he was crawling around on the street after some say that he had originally been beaten up.

See you Thurs at 1PM.
